POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Description:

Provide network engineering and support for the linux and unix server infrastructure of Currenex.

Duties:

· Support production network infrastructure

· Interface with vendors, staff, clients, and business partners to facilitate connectivity to trading systems.

· Provide engineering solutions to improve performance and scale system functionality in a rapidly expanding infrastructure..

· Develop and implement business continuity solutions.

· Monitor system performance.

· Provide off-hours support.

· Stay current with developing technologies and evaluate their application to Currenex' operations.

· Document all aspects of design and daily changes.

Required Skills:

· Juniper Netscreen Firewall configuration

· Juniper Router router configuration

· Cisco switch and router configuration

· Foundry router and switch configuration

· Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, NAT, VPNs, SSL

· Strong Unix/Linux operating system usage skills.

· Hardware installation in office and co-lo environments.

· Experience with monitoring systems (Nagios, HP Openview, etc).

· Good writing skills.

Required Education/Experience:

· BS/CS or degree in related field or …

· 5 years networking experience

Additional Desired Skills:

· sh and/or Perl programming experience.

· Makefile and other source code control systems.

· Multicast routing and configuration.

· Web server configuration and deployment.

· Open source software: RANCID, Cacti, Nagio, Smokeping, RCS, CVS.

· Windows PC/Server.

· Visio/Word.
