Project Manager
Reporting to the Associate Director, the Project Manager for Information Technology (IT) will provide technical support and guidance for University-wide projects. Will plan, coordinate and track telecommunications initiatives and lead telecommunications technical solution implementations. The incumbent will ensure cohesiveness between the Telecommunications Division (TD) operational units, partners, University stakeholders and clients in technical solution design and implementation. This includes overall project delivery for infrastructure upgrades, renovations and new construction, across all campuses. Will serve as primary client liaison and provide the "bridge" between client needs and technical solutions that support those needs. Responsibility for financial management of TD projects will also be required. The project manager will apply best practices in project management and telecommunications system implementation in order to deliver value-added solutions in a cost-effective manner. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field or discipline, preferably in information technology or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of information technology or technical project management. A minimum of 3 years IT project management or IT solution implementation, with a focus on the telecommunications domain, is required. Experiential knowledge in telecommunications technologies and their application and in IT project management methods and procedures is required. Prefer an advanced knowledge in one or more telecommunications domains and/or project management methods; Project Management certification and/or training credits; and Telecommunications technical certification and/or training credits.
