Mindlance has an urgent contract for one of our direct clients: Location : New York City Mode : Fulltime / Permanent Position Salary : $ 90 K + Benefits Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities: - Perform all aspects of Security Incident monitoring and response.
- Collaborate with clients, and other technical engineers to translate security and business requirements into technical designs.
- Hands-on installation and use of vulnerability scanners, IPS, and open source security monitoring and auditing tools.
- Conduct security risk / vulnerability analysis of business and technology resources. Communicate areas of risk / vulnerabilities; propose mitigation plans to Information Security Management.
- Apply security engineering principles related to building, maintaining, and monitoring secure infrastructure.
- In-depth technical knowledge in implementing data protection and integrity, operating systems, network security, authentication, and security protocols.
- Perform Security Monitoring of critical enterprise resources.
- Security design and testing of disaster recovery procedures.
- Monitor networks to ensure confidentiality and integrity of duty and availability of all network services.
- Reviews security logs to monitor unauthorized system access attempts, both internal and external.
- Investigates and follows up on security violations and incidents.
- Perform system audits and project work.
- Translate security requirements and information into effective presentations for non-technical users.
- Develop and maintain documents and implement IT security policy and procedures.
- Act as a knowledge base of compliance issues encompassing Sarbanes Oxley.
Required Competencies/Skills: - Must have 6+ years of Information Security experience with at least 3+ years of hands on incident response experience
- Must be able to think strategically as well as tactically.
- Experience with Anti-Virus tools
- Experience with Security assessment tools
- Experience with TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs and other network security devices.
- Knowledge of operating systems (Microsoft, Unix).
- Knowledge of database applications
