Candidates must have either (1) strong recent Life Insurance systems experience or (2) recent financial services company experience in a Distributed architecture-Websphere, C, Java environment. They must also have recent responsibility for a large staff size and a substantial budget as this position manages 60-80 people and a $6-8MM budget
Director Applications Development

Overview:
This individual has responsibility for all aspects of application development and management for a set of applications within the Individual Life group. The role requires collaboration with senior business managers regarding technology and process solutions to ensure that they support the strategic direction of the business. This position has responsibility for highly complex projects that span the Individual Life business area.
The individual leads a team of approximately 60-80 I/T professionals, both employee and consultant located onshore and offshore. Budgetary responsibility is between $6-8MM. The individual must lead these resources to ensure delivery of key projects as well as assure the availability and stability of a number of business critical applications.
Responsibilities:
This individual must develop a deep understanding of both the systems under their management and the business processes they support. Key challenges include working with partners in all levels within the business to prioritize initiatives, assess feasibility, recommend and implement the optimal technical solution and ensuring resources are most efficiently aligned against those initiatives. These initiatives have a direct impact on the Individual Life Profit Center business results.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Setting strategic technology direction
Budget management
Ensuring the timely and high quality delivery of projects and services
Technical stability and application availability
Quality Assurance
Contract management
Organizational development
Knowledge:
Application development; awareness/knowledge of relevant technologies
Disciplined project management methodology and process excellence
Knowledge of the life insurance industry highly preferred, but not required.
Experience:
10+ years of IT managerial experience required
Experience in managing management level professionals
Distributed architecture, WebSphere, Java and C experience required
Demonstrated leadership of large technology groups (50+)
Experience managing on-shore/off-shore application development projects
Prior management of Quality Assurance team is desirable
Six Sigma training is desirable

NYC based asset manager with $2b+ AUM is seeking a Quantitative Equity Research Analyst with a strong programming background and an interest in financial markets. The analyst will spend a fair amount of time reviewing academic literature and performing analysis on proprietary data that utilizes key findings. The role will involve data collection/manipula tion, statistical analysis of large datasets, and ad hoc projects that will aid the firm's portfolio managers in stock selection. Applicants should possess a deep understanding of linear regression and time series analysis. All candidates with strong quantitative skills will be considered, but successful candidates will likely have a math intensive background (engineering, math, operations research, statistics, physics, economics, computer science undergraduate and/or advanced degree). Familiarity with some standard pr ogramming languages will be expected (i.e. C/C++, Java, Matlab, S+, Visual

Our client a global financial services firm and a market leader in securities, Investment Banking and credit services is seeking a Sr Business Analyst with Strong SDLC & Financial/Investment Banking to work in New York, NY.

Duration; 6-12 months +
Location: New York, NY
Experienced in Industry SDLC methodologies and their implementation. Excellent communications skills; Results oriented; Ability to facilitate work and design sessions and drive issues to resolution
This individual will assist with the daily day to day responsibilities of project work associated with various lines of business. This individual will be working on multiple projects simultaneously. Must be able to juggle multiple projects at one time and be able to switch gears quickly when an obstacle arises and another approach is necessary in order to accomplish your task. Major projects include the closing of one platform and the migration and converting to a new platform. Tasks include drafting business requirements and working with technology partners and field regions to understand specifics requirements, develop project plans, project planning, facilitate and participate in user testing, help organize timelines. In addition, the ability to draft communications and manage communications approval process is required. This individual will also assist with the updates to documents: agreements, disclosures, procedure bulletins, etc.
Skill set should include:

7-10 years of Business Analysis preferred/Required
3+ years experience within the financial services industry (Brokerage types)

International Investment Experience is highly desirable
