Business Systems Development Manager

Position Description:

One of the world's leading manufacturers is currently seeking an experienced Manager to join our Business Systems Development team located in NNJ.

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Director of IT Systems Development, creates or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capability and limitation, operating time and form of customer desired results.

Essential Job Functions:

Creates SAP related new business development and maintains and support the SAP business functional area.
SAP system development/functional improvement based on user and department needs.
Researches opportunities to automate transactions within SAP.
Leads and manages projects related to the functional improvements of SAP.
Works with each department to understand the work flow, identifies areas for improved efficiency and implements system changes to support the improvements. Develops new systems and enhances existing systems in order to minimize maintenance requirements,
Through coordination and cooperation with the IT department, develops, implements and tests functional system improvements. Coordinates systems analysis design and debugging of new systems.
Acts as the liaison between the SAP users and IT to ensure that the needs of the user are effectively communicated to the programmers.
End-user interfacing or be purpose of design and implementation of new systems and trouble-shooting problems with existing systems.
Report and update the status of projects and work assignments.
Proactively learns and utilizes new technologies, concepts and procedures as appropriate to project requirements.
Keeps abreast of new and emerging technologies within the industry in order to implement successful programs.

Educational Qualifications: BA or BS preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems Business Administration, or equivalent.

Experience: 5 years of related work experience in a management role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. 3 years Strong Project Management Skills and SAP experience required . Requires a training in lean systems, production and Project management

The equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable

Competencies: Successful candidate should be an energetic, self-starter able to multitask with excellent oral and written communication abilities. Must be very detail oriented, work at a faster than average pace, and possess a service oriented attitude. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and language skills required. Must be able to work well independently under pressure and have the ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
