Job Description
We are looking for an Business Development Manager to be responsible for leading marketing efforts and to act as a liaison between sponsors (pharmaceutical and bio-tech companies), physician investigators, and research teams on behalf of our organization's research division, CarePoint Health Research Institute.
Although this position requires travel, its headquarters will be located at:

The Business Development Manager will provide service support in developing physician investigators and clinical trials referrals from different clients and sponsors for support of existing and new business and be responsible for developing new business initiatives, assessing new markets, and analyzing business opportunities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Identifying potential business partners,  initiating proposals, and  developing relationship with physicians working in all network hospitals and private practices, and supporting members' research management as appropriate to expand relationships with existing clients into new regions and service areas 
* Maintaining constant contact with sponsors, study referral agencies, or sources to secure new business.
* Providing macro analysis regarding business development opportunities, trends, and focus for the research institute.
* Assisting with metrics management and assessment for strategic service introduction and changes based on market trends and opportunities including local market share comparisons and other competitor analyses.
* Maintaining ongoing communication with clients with regards to potential studies, opportunities for submissions of proposals and budgets, outcome of submitted proposals and budgets and feedback
* Managing Business Development Associates when appropriate and support the development of new team members.
Qualifications
*  Bachelor's degree, preferably in a scientific discipline.
* Business-based degree, with equivalent experience in a scientific or healthcare related field
Experience:
* A minimum of 2 years of experience in business sales and/or clinical research.
* Must have a proven record of successful business development within clinical research,  strong contacts within the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, and an in depth understanding of the clinical trials process.
* Excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Must be fluent in English (an additional language is preferred, but not essential). 
* A can-do, winning attitude with the ability to work within a production oriented collaborative team environment under time pressure.
* Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, and Power Point required - Access, Study Tracker, or other database experience preferred.

Job Purpose

To coach and provide models, tools and processes on specific initiatives

Interfaces:

To advocate functional interests influencing OD direction in the OBU

Operational Excellence:

Ideal Background

Education :

University degree in related field required; advanced degree preferred

Languages:

Experience:
