Responsible for coordinating, defining, staffing, and managing one or multiple
projects. The Project Manager works across the business, IS management, Quality
Assurance and Testing, Systems Analyst, Software Development, and Technical
Writing teams to ensure the delivery of a high quality software application.
Primary technical point of contact with management and various technical
personnel on project from project inception through completion. Develops project
schedules, coordinates project status meetings, manages resources in all phases
of software development lifecycle. Works with the project business owner to
oversee delivery performance, ensure delivery quality and report schedule, cost,
and execution performance. Graduate degree preferred
Global Infrastructure Utility (GIU) Program Manager- Communications Work Stream
Description:
- Management and coordination of the communications work stream activities,
deliverables, issues, timelines and dependencies.
- Execute and project delivery of the tactical and strategic communications
plans.
- Must be in regular contact with Global Infrastructure Utility (GIU) Program
Manager, Project Leads and AIG Corporate Communications to ensure appropriate
messaging and alignment with program milestones.
- As a member of the communications team this position is responsible for
planning, drafting and/or editing, securing approvals for, and or disseminating
any program-related communications that cross team, program, departmental or
organizational boundaries.
- Supports Communications Work Stream Project Executive on management and
execution of GIU Program Communications Work Stream.
- Establishes, develops, implements, and reviews communications policies and
procedures.
- Coordinates and reviews program status with program steering committee and
project members.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Experience
- 10 years IT Program Management and project delivery experience including:
- 5 years experience managing project managers and technical teams.
- Experience managing and leading global resources and projects.
- Experience in interfacing with senior level executives in providing program
status, issues and mitigation plans.
- Experience with MS Office and Project.
Knowledge and Skills
- Advanced communications (verbal and written) skills.
- Advanced Program and Project Management skills.
- Proficient knowledge of major infrastructure technologies, applications and
interfaces including an understanding of network, open systems, mainframe and
security.
- Basic knowledge of website technologies.
- Basic knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)

Often, one of the roles for the business analyst is to ensure that a well
understood and accepted statement of what constitutes success for a
customer's need is clarified and the documented functionality meets that
need. The presentation will describe the parts of a project definition, how
to create one and how it is used duirng analysis to ensure success.
Additionally, participants will be led through a fun exercise to try the
technique for themselves.
Fran Caggiano-Swenson has extensive experience in the definition, analysis,
design and development of solutions utilizing a variety of business analysis
techniques. She has led several business process improvement and
organizational change efforts where she was able to apply a variety of
business analysis, facilitation and leadership techniques. For
organizations such as the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, Twin
Cities Habitat for Humanity, State of Minnesota, Aflac, MetLife and HCA
(Hospitals Corporation of America), Fran has led several efforts through the
discovery, assessment and specification of business requirements.

approaches to specify business requirements for a wide range of public and
