Hello Everyone,

Rate: DOE

Location: Downtown, NYC

Duration: 6months +

Position Title: FIX Lead Systems Engineer

Experience:

. 4 - 7 Years experience managing UNIX / Linux Server
environments, (Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience required, experience with
Linux on VMware is preferred)

. 4 - 7 Years of UNIX / Linux Server management. Including OS
Installation and configuration

. 4 - 7 Years experience with the UNIX / Linux Server software
installation, configuration and tuning

Knowledge/Skills:

. Ability to install, configure and maintain Linux and IBM AIX
server Operating Systems

. Strong inter-personal and communications skills, making
presentations to an internal audience, interacting positively with upper
management

. Ability to train users in applications and UNIX / Linux
fundamentals and writing basic documentation

. Ability to troubleshoot common system problems, using all
available resources, (vendor support, online documentation), to completion

. Possess a working knowledge and skill with most aspects of UNIX
/ Linux systems administration; for example, system installation and
configuration, fundamentals of security, installing third party software

. Possess a solid knowledge of a UNIX / Linux-based operating
system; for example, understands paging and swapping, inter-process
communication, devices and what device drivers do, file system concepts
("inode", "superblock", etc.)

. Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing
environment concepts; for example, can configure NFS, DNS and understands
basic routing concepts.

. Ability to write scripts in some administrative language such as
Korn/Bourne/C Shell, Perl, Tk.

. Ability to install, configure and manage storage with a Logical
Volume Manager (e.g. Linux LVM, Veritas Foundation Suite, Sun Volume
Manager, etc.)

Education/Certification/Training:

. B.S. in Computer Science or Information Systems (or related)
required

. Red Hat Certified Technician (RHCT) or Red Hat Certified
Engineer (RHCE) strongly desired

Experience

. 5 - 7 years of UNIX Server management, including OS Installation

. 5 - 7 years experience with the UNIX Server software

Knowledge/Skills

. Strong project management and leadership skills.

. Ability to work independently or with a cross departmental team.

. Must have a working knowledge of the ITIL framework.

. Ability to install, configure and maintain Red Hat Linux server
Operating Systems.

. Possess an expert knowledge and skill with most aspects of UNIX
systems administration.

. Understand storage systems maintained by EMC Symmetrix (DMX) and
Clariion.

. Must be customer focused and understand the Systems

. Working knowledge of FIX financial protocol and NYX's Appia and
