Project Manager
Position: Full - Time
Location: Parsippany, NJ
The project manager works partly as a project manager, partly as a business
analyst and partly as a liaison. In support of the product, commercial, sales
and development teams, project manager works with teams in negotiating budget,
scope and schedules to deliver projects with quality following the PMO process.
The project manager must be skilled in enterprise project management and
practices that fit mid size organizations. The successful candidate will be a
functional leader, team player and be a strong and persuasive personality but be
an inclusive communicator. Creativity and the ability to think out of the box
will be assets for this role.
Characteristics
· Thrives in a smaller environment with pressure of rapid change.
· Communicates well across different teams, conceptually and concretely.
· Acts as a strong leader in a dynamic business environment.
· Seeks constructive solutions within practical realities by means of
influencing change.
· Solves problems proactively.
· Drives to make a difference.
· Ability to âthink outside the boxâ.
Responsibilities
· Manage full life cycle implementation projects.
· Project plan development and tracking.
· Liaise between Product and IT project resources for scheduling,
coordination and status reporting.
· Projects status presentations.
· Risk, issue, and budget management.
Educational Background
· Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or
other related field (or has equivalent work experience)
Job Requirements
· 5-7 years demonstrated knowledge and successful application of project
management and software development practices.
· Prior experience in managing large scale and complex projects (> $200K
of spend on contractor resources) using a project management tool/s.
· Solid understanding of project management methologies such as Agile
and Waterfall.
· Solid understanding of the software development life cycle in a fast
pace environment.
· Software development/management experience.
Skills
· Excellent business/technical communication skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to
create effective presentations for stakeholder updatesand others as necessary.
· Capability to understand and synthesize technical issues.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Work closely with PMO manager and team on day to day operations.
· Ability to navigate a large organization and develop strong
relationships across IT and the business.
· Pragmatic marketing framework experience is highly desired.
· Configuration and implementation of project management tool such as MS
Project Server is highly desired..
· PMP and CSM or equivalent certification is a plus.
