We are currently looking for 2 RPG
software engineers on a contract to hire basis for a major company in King of
Prussia. Our client is a fast growing company that specializes in retail
ecommerce outsourcing including leading-edge web technology platform, customer
service call center, fulfillment center operations, and full agency marketing services.
Join a team of leading i5 analysts
and developers that perform analysis, design, development and testing of a
variety of i5 applications, including both third-party and customized in-house
solutions. Design and implement application solutions and database
modifications in the functional areas of order processing, inventory
management, financials, merchandising, and fulfillment. Create specialized
reporting and integrations to/from other internal systems and external parties.
Develop procedures to implement and execute applications to achieve operational
excellence. Work directly with management and a broad array of IT professionals
in a technology organization where the business is technology-centric.
Required:
* 4 year degree required
* Supply Chain experience

* Our client will take an outstanding programmer with no JDA exp. and teach them JDA over an average programmer who happens to have JDA experience
Responsibilities:
The Principal Software Engineer
(PSE) is responsible for setting Supply Chain Management (SCM) System technical
solution direction and the ultimate success of its implementation to align with
business strategy. As an SCM professional, you will educate project team members
on business unit goals and objectives and educate the business on the value of
information technology. You'll serve as the primary liaison between the
SCM software development team, larger project team members, business
stakeholders, and external clients. Through excellent verbal and written
communication skills and the ability to translate between technical and
business language, you'll work collaboratively, negotiating technical
requirements across various groups. You will learn and share a comprehensive
understanding of the overall IT architecture, both current and future roadmap,
to ensure long-term alignment.
Extended responsibilities include:
* Designing, developing and implementing highest-quality software application solutions for internal and external business users on an AS/400 (i5) platform
* Apply knowledge and best practices to support users in the implementation and on-going development of SCM retail ERP applications
* Build online applications, complex integrations, batch processing, and back-end databases using primarily CL, a variety of RPG versions, and XML
* Properly document technical solutions, programming code, and project details according to company development standards
* Operate as a subject matter expert to review technical system requirements and ensure alignment with business requirements
* Participate in discovery, business requirement, technical design, testing and architecture work sessions
* Responsible for the collection, analysis, design and documentation of SCM related technical requirements
* Creates level-of-effort activity and project hour estimations used in planning resource activities
* Acts as lead technical designer providing technical guidance and leadership to both onshore and offshore development resources
* Promotes technical vision and sound development principles among development staff members
* Configure applications based on requirements submitted by business partners and company development best practices
* Develop test cases or test approach, write and execute unit test, regression test, and debug programs as assigned. Review the test plan and monitor the testing process to ensure that business results are adequately tested and the remaining risks are acceptable.
* Coordinate activities with business systems analysts, developers, QA analysts, PSEs, and project managers
* Participate in projects and provide cross-functional IT application support coordination on issues & design planning for new initiatives where product structure may impact SCM, reliability, and effective order processing
* Assist with risk management and change management on projects
* Work independently with minimal direction
* Serve as a project team member or may lead teams with project owner accountability for budget, resource, quality, and project schedule delivery
* Work with management in evaluating application infrastructure and developing SCM roadmap to ensure future alignment with our client's aggressive business growth
* Analyze and design technical, functional and architecture improvements to core infrastructure to improve feature/functionality performance, capacity and scalability of the company's Supply Chain Management Systems
* Develop and propose changes in process, policy and standards as they relate to the software development organization
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Computer Science/MIS, Engineering or related field
* 7-8+ years programming in RPG III and IV, ILE, XML, and CL at a Senior Programmer/Analyst level working in software development and/or implementing ERP, Order Management and Distribution software systems in a retail, distribution, e-commerce, or high tech company
* Experience working with Order Management, Shipping, Advance Pricing, Inventory, Purchasing, Financials, and/or Cost Management business processes
* Demonstrated experience working with FTP, sub-file processing, stored procedures, database triggers, linking/binding in ILE, SQL, and embedded SQL
* Knowledge in Aldon Change Management or similar package
* Good knowledge of project management fundamentals and experience running small to mid-size projects
* Must possess understanding of business processes and ability to solve complex problems
* Critical thinker and demonstrated ability to mitigate project risks
* Excellent listening, verbal and written communication, reporting and presentation skills
* Ability to interface and work with varying levels of the organization, from users to management, in a highly interactive culture
* Strong business acumen and working knowledge of functional and procedural process modeling methodologies
* Self-starter with initiative and the ability to manage workload prioritization
* Ability to multi-task across multiple concurrent projects
* Strong customer interaction, organizational and time-management skills
* Must possess the ability to deliver high quality work products on time with minimal direction
* Self-starter, can-do positive and proactive attitude

* JDA retail application experience a plus (MMS or SODA)

* CA AutoSys integration experience
* EDI and ETL experience in integrating packaged software solutions with i5

POSITION PURPOSE & SCOPE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
h Participates in strategy deployment process to gain a
clear understanding of the business plan, key drivers, and desired culture and
values of the business. Represents the interests of employees, customers,
vendors, industry and the community. Develops and implements the actions
necessary to align people with drivers to achieve business results.
Develops a comprehensive Human Resources plan that includes
HR strategy, goals, action items, staffing, timelines and associated budget.
Develops employment and staffing methodology and works in
partnership with managers to implement internal / external job posting programs
to source new candidates. Participates in the Talent Management processes that
support the cost-effective recruitment of the most qualified candidates into
every open position.
Develops creative ways to re-recruit current employee
population to maintain their view of CLIENT as being the employer of choice.
Supports management on the selection and placement of
employees in positions which make effective use of their qualifications and
will develop their potential for further growth. Prepares job offers and makes
salary recommendations.
Works with management to document the requirements of key
positions. Prepares job description specifications. Performs skill / gap
assessments on individuals in key positions and makes recommendations on how to
fill any gaps.
Collects and performs trend analysis on turnover and other
human resource metrics and makes recommendations on courses of action.
Audits the compensation and benefit plans to assure desired
competitive position within industry. Manages annual merit increase program.
Administers the CLIENT performance management system that
establishes key business goals and measurable objectives for each employee as
well as the training and development commitments required for employees to
achieve current job expectations and to prepare for future growth.
Establishes and maintains compliance with local employment
laws and local practices. Files necessary reporting and conducts regular
audits.
Recruits and certifies internal trainers or engages
external trainers as required to fulfill business needs. Audits training
curriculum in cooperation with line management. Provides input on effectiveness
of the training and development efforts in terms of job performance,
recruiting, career pathing, retention and succession planning.
Provides guidance and counsel to management on issues
related to overall organizational effectiveness in the areas of roles &
responsibilities, morale, team work, and management / leadership development.
Conducts an organizational review that will provide management with a vehicle
to regularly assess the current organization (roles & responsibilities) and
to plan for future growth.
Develops and maintains a partnership with professional
associations. Represents the organization before professional groups.
Facilitates the resolution of employee relations issues
with managers and the workforce in general.
Supervises employee communications programs. Develops a
communications strategy that will regularly inform the workforce on the status
of the business. Directs and maintains various activities designed to promote
and maintain a high level of employee morale and recognize employee
contributions.
Ensures that the work environment provides employees with
the tools and technology to perform their work at a high level of
accomplishment.
Partner with the CLIENT Energy Products Group Vice
Presidents and leadership team to create sustainable processes that supports
constructive and honest feedback mechanisms that directly support improved
performance against customer satisfaction, financial performance and other key
metrics.
Build a collaborative, metrics-based, "act on
fact", high-performance, global culture that is both inclusive (to
encourage cross-functional teamwork for continuous improvement) and disciplined

Maintain the accuracy and integrity of HR technology and
tools to transform data into information and to support fact-based action
planning and decision-making.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Seven to 10 years or more of successful, progressively
broadening Senior Human Resource experience in a manufacturing or distribution
environment.
o At least 3 years of this experience must have been spent
leading Human Resources at the corporate, business unit or multi-facility
level.
o International experience is advantageous.
o Knowledge of Lean Operations and Six Sigma methods and
tools would be a compelling competitive advantage.
o Experience with acquisition due diligence and integration
would be a compelling competitive advantages.
h Proven ability to deliver results by working proactively,
strategically and effectively with all employees.
h Comprehensive knowledge of local labor and employment
laws.
h Observed behavior and prior actions, decisions and results
