Below is a brief overview of the CFO role.
Amrop Battalia Winston is a retained executive search firm. We have been
retained by a $1B global technology company with US Headquarters in the
Southeast to find a CFO - North America. US revenues are approximately $150
million. This role will serve as a business partner to the Managing
Director of North America and will direct a staff of 29 in finance &
control, HR and IT.
We are seeking executives with a minimum of 15 years of finance experience
and 10 years of management experience ideally from a global, publicly-traded
company.
The ideal candidates will have a CPA and/or MBA and have experience with
subsidiary accounting. Familiarity with international accounting standards
is considered a plus.

The Company
The Company is a non-US based, global, publicly listed market leader in a
technology driven, growing and leading edge product and solutions business.
Scope of the Position
The Chief Financial Officer will act as business partner to the Managing
Director (Head) of the North American business (the US and Canada) and is
responsible for directing and managing all financial activities of the
region and for contributing to the growth of the business. The CFO will
provide leadership on all financial issues and serve as key advisor to
senior management on company performance and long-term initiatives.
Reporting Relationships
The CFO will report both to the Managing Director of the North American
region and also to the Group Chief Financial Officer for the Company located
in Europe. The position will lead and manage a group of twenty-nine people
in Finance and Control, Human Resources and IT.
Requirements for the Position
A minimum of fifteen years of experience in positions of increasing
responsibility with a minimum of ten years in financial management in a
global publicly traded company.
A BS or BA degree in accounting, finance or business is required. Public
accounting experience and a CPA and or MBA, while not required, are
preferred and some knowledge of IRFS is helpful. Solid finance and
accounting background with an emphasis on working with operations to improve
business and profitability.
Experience interfacing with international financial leaders, subsidiary
accounting and experience working with a European parent is highly
desirable.
Operationally and business-focused with a well rounded financial
background, a solid track record of managing the financial function and of
being a key contributor to driving operational and strategic performance.
Demonstrated skills in leading projects such as improvement of performance
monitoring and/or implementation of KPI adapted to the business.
Technical skills to oversee the management of accounting and reporting and
experience with a European parent organization, especially knowledge of both
US and European accounting standards.
Understanding of information technology and financial systems and of the
integration of accounting and operational systems. Experience with SAP is
preferred.
Past leadership of functions outside of finance is helpful.
Responsibilities of the Position
The Chief Financial Officer provides overall financial leadership, support
and management of the North American Region finance function and is
responsible for all financial aspects of the region. The CFO provides to
the Managing Director of North America and to business leaders, thorough
analysis of financial operations and business operations as well as
strategic and tactical counsel to help achieve the Company's financial
results, growth and action plans to increase profitability in the North
American market.
The position provides the leadership team with timely analysis of results of
operations, analysis of the business reasons underlying these results,
identifies deficiencies and makes recommendations for improvement.
Responsible for financial and operational support and for helping to drive
change as the business enhances its solutions and product offerings and
penetrates further the North American market.
The CFO also supports special projects which may include acquisitions, new
product lines and extensions, analysis of capital expenditures etc.
Direct, lead, mentor and coach staff in finance, accounting and control,
human resources and IT.

Ability to quickly identify critical operating issues and drive results
through a combination of innovative execution and cross-functional teamwork.
Good business judgment.

Location
The position is located in the Southeastern United States. Relocation of
the candidate and family is required.

Marty Latman is the chairman of the Bergen Chapter of Financial Executive
Network Group (FENG), which he created in March 2002 with 29 members.
Membership within this chapter has now grown to over 2,600 members. Since
its inception, FENG-Bergen Chapter has successfully helped more than 550 of
its members find gainful employment. He is also the chairman of the NJ
Strategic Executive Networking Group (NJSENG), a FEI member, and a member
of over 20 other career networking groups.
