Director, Application Support Director, Application Support Our client is recruiting an articulate and motivated individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills to join our team as a Director, Application Support. Responsibilities include day-to-day people management, process management and vendor relations. Responsibilities to Include: § Manages the efforts of the applications software support team § Manages the configuration, release, and maintenance of software applications and services that support Options Trading Platforms § Manages the coordination of environments and software applications and services for various internal test groups § Improves technical processes by collaborating with management, colleagues, and other internal functional teams. * Coordinates maintenance and support plans with various software application stakeholders. * Coordinates staffing and resource allocation with project managers and provides input into strategic planning for resource development and deployment against projects. * Coordinates deliverables with other divisions such as Product Development and Network Integration / Operations. * Leads the implementation of Trading Applications within the Operations and support division and ensures training, implementation and compliance with company objectives. * Represents the implementation plan and schedule for Application releases within Operations and Support Division. * Relies on experience and judgment to provide day to day support * Manager and Liaison for Production Trading Incidents * Problem Management for Application Related Issues * Strong knowledge of applications noteworthy to resolve problems Results Expected: * Define & Implement Release Management Standards . * Integrate Change Control function for Trading Applications * Management of Test Environments * Management of I Application Support Team * Management of Implementation activities in support of the Capacity and Security Program Required Experience Required Experience * Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and at least 10 years of experience with either, release management, software development, software support, and/or configuration management. * Must have a solid understanding of the software application environment. Familiarity with the following technologies: * Linux, Unix Operating Systems * ASP, ASP, C#, .NET architecture * SQL Server 2000, 2005 * IAS * Windows Server 2003Data Warehousing Tools in SQL Server: Analysis Services, Reporting Services, ETL, etc. * Knowledge and experience with a variety of Technology concepts, best practices, and procedures, particularly with Project Management, Release Management, Configuration Management. * Knowledge and experience with Microsoft applications infrastructure, * Ability to build relationships and influence with peers and client management. * Ability to communicate very effectively with clients and use experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. * Ability and skill to lead and effectively direct the work of others. * Ability and demonstrated history in managing projects and technical staff. * Ability to develop and train staff.
