Alex Freund: "How to Understand and Adapt to the Current Job Market"
Alex Freund joins us once again. Tonight he shares with us the reasons for the uncertainty in today's job market, the way employers are reacting, and the impact on job seekers. His presentation explains the role of recruiters, both now and in the future, and offers suggestions about how best to work with them. Alex also describes new tools: one that identifies keywords that employers use for specific positions, and how to match those words to your resume; and another, a set of visual slides that identify the things employers want vs. those that a job seeker's resume usually offer.
Alex, known as the "landing expert," is an effective and successful career and interviewing coach. He is prominent in several on- and off-line job-search networking groups, conducts workshops on effective resume development and use of LinkedIn in the job-search process, teaches a career development seminar, and publishes a blog designed especially for job seekers. For those in the Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York City area, Alex publishes a free directory of job-search networking groups.
