journal entries, invoicing, bank reconciliations and fixed asset records
for *timeliness, accuracy and completeness. *
· Assuming ownership for implementing, managing, and monitoring
internal controls.
· Directing the creation and maintenance of job budgets.
· Reviewing employee benefit plans, to maintain appropriate
insurance coverage with a particular emphasis on maximizing a
cost-effective benefits package.
· Overseeing the issuance of financial information and reporting
financial results to the company president.
· Taking the lead in recommending technology enhancements.
· Ensuring that the company complies with all legal and regulatory
requirements.

<http://www.accountingtools.com/definition-auditor> and government
agencies.
- Reporting risk issues to the company president.
- Overseeing the annual preparation of data for outside auditors
(financial and tax preparation) and investigating their findings and
recommendations.
- Monitoring cash <http://www.accountingtools.com/definition-cash> balances
and cash forecasts.
- Representing the company with investment bankers and investors
<http://www.accountingtools.com/definition-investor> (e.g.,
participating in conference calls with the investment community).
- Championing and executing changes necessary to ensure increased
financial stability and profitability.
Qualifications for this position include:
· Bachelor's degree (preferably in Accounting); master's degree
(accounting or business administration) and/or CPA or CMA certifications
would be a plus.
· 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in
accounting/finance – *at least half of which must be in a
labor/service-sector-related industry. *
· Current or recent experience in working with labor unions.
· Hands-on CFO with ability to "roll up sleeves."

skills.
