Position Summary:
My client's Data Services Engineering team is seeking a Senior Software
Engineer to join the team to build and support ETL and Reporting platforms.
The Data Services team supports centralized applications across Enterprise
Reporting and Data Security. The developer will work with team members on
designing and developing enhancements and new capabilities using Talend and
Tableau. Other projects include leading data security initiatives and
supporting new Enterprise Reporting platform.
Responsibilities:
* Support of custom Data Services Reporting platform
* Researching reported problems
* Generating story level enhancements using technical tools and
process methods.
* Talend ETL Development
* Tableau Reports Development
* Data Model Enhancements to support new functionality.
* Operational readiness and rollout of new versions of applications
* Test new technology and vendor interfaces into applications
* Some project management responsibilities
* Contribute to the development of internal and external
documentation
Required Skills and Competencies:
* 1-2 years of ETL experience like Talend.
* 2+ years of self-service BI like Tableau.
* Knowledge of Data Modeling and data dictionary and system views ;
DBA experience is a plus
* Strong SQL skills
* 3 - 5 years Programming experience and familiarity with agile
development tools and methods preferred
* Java and Web Services experience is a plus.
* Experience with reporting platforms like Jasper would be a plus
* BS degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or
equivalent experience
Keys to this Position:
1) Technical Requirements: ETL, Data Modeling, Reporting and SQL
experience is required.
2) Ideally the candidate will have experience with Talend (ETL tool).
Other acceptable ETL tools would be Data Stage or Informatica.
3) Ideally the candidate will have experience with Tableau (self-service
BI tool). We will train the candidate to learn Tableau. Other acceptable
BI tools include OBIEE and Spotfire (although these are not required).
4) Java, Web Services and AWS (Amazon Web Services) are a nice to have.
5) We will consider a core level candidate (5 to 7 years) or a senior
level candidate (10 plus years).
