ideal candidate has served as controller of brick-and-mortar retail
operations. Seeking a current CPA familiar with merchandising and
inventory management as well as customary business and accounting
responsibilities. This
successful retail group is family owned, seeking a strong controller
and financial planner to oversee overall financial administration and
serve as a trusted advisor to the owner and leadership team. Responsibilities: · Take
an active role in advancing the organizations growth and profitability
through effective financial management, including budgeting, cash
management, cost control and strategic planning. · Manage
a team of accounting associates and category managers, providing
guidance and support and ensuring high-quality performance. · Oversee
EOM closings, review workpapers and sales forecasts, prepare necessary
reports including dashboards for senior management. · Conduct annual insurance audit and financial statement review, manage sales tax filings, prepare tax returns with outside CPA. · Maintain
banking, legal, insurance & other key vendor relationships; loan
negotiations; annual insurance renewals; credit card and finance company
liaison. · Communicate financial results & budget analysis at corporate and department levels; initiate corrective actions as needed. · Establish
new vendor relationships and work with existing vendor base to
negotiate terms, develop incentive programs, and ensure a reliable and
operationally effective flow of goods to fulfillment centers. · Ensure accurate forecasting and close monitoring of procurement margin. · Work closely with supply chain partners to purchase inventory required to support sales and promotions. · Ensure
efficient inventory flows (including the forecasting, purchasing, and
return of new and catalog products). Determine and execute exit
strategies for unproductive inventory. · Partner with Human Resources to monitor staff development and training. Qualifications: · Previous retail experience as controller or higher; proven financial manager in environment with high volume of transactions. · CPA, certification current. · Energetic, can-do attitude with proven problem-solving skills. · Strong
analytical direction. Proficient in generating and evaluating various
forecasts, metrics, and analyses; savvy application toward strategic
initiatives. · A track record of successful negotiations and overall relationship management (both internal and external). · Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and grow a team while managing multiple priorities efficiently. · Superior communication skills (both oral and written). · Knowledge
of MS Office suite (particularly Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) is
preferred, as well as agility with web-based software. · Experience working in a family-owned business is preferred.
Please note: Compensation for this role within the $130-150K base plus bonus range.

Leading logistics company seeks a Senior EDI Analyst to lead the processing and distribution of all EDI data and prepare analytical reports on data patterns and trends. The Senior EDI Analyst is responsible for quality, integrity, and consistency of EDI data that is received, processed and loaded into systems as well as detail level reporting of status and issues. This position will be responsible for monitoring EDI flows, researching, troubleshooting and resolving data anomalies and disruptions utilizing SQL, Excel and Access. Developing and reporting on KPIâs for raw and processed chassis activity data utilizing business intelligence tools will also be required. The position is also responsible for creation and maintenance of SLAâs and Interface agreements and trading partner scorecards. The position supports the field offices, equipment control groups and internal teams.
Responsibilities:
* Manages all the chassis activity, outbound EDI data (EDI, flat files, embedded in emails) received from trading partners, vendors and what is provided to members
* Coordinates the setup of new EDI trading partners. This includes the communication of EDI standard, FTP setup, coordination of testing to validate Integrity, completeness and quality of EDI data
* Manages generation and review of KPIâs using a standard industry BI tool
* Uses KPIâs to recommend necessary processes and functionality such as automated triggers, reports and screens to manage and improve data flow and processing. Works with technical team in developing the functionality
* Monitors and updates KPIâs to reflect changes in business operations, seasonality and external factors that affect data quality, integrity, consistency and timelines
* Works with data management and operations field staff to ensure necessary updates, corrections to EDI feed format and content are communicated to trading partners
* Manages updates and maintenance of reference and mapping data along with rules that drive the implementation of business flow in company systems
* Updates and maintains trading partner profiles, including contacts, format, method and frequency of transmissions and interface agreement attributes that are part of the SLA
* Monitors and communicates daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly status and anomalies to management, back office and field operations
* Determines if there are data transmission errors, escalate them to help desk and follow through till resolved
* Works with field staff to identify and resolve data issues at the facilities and provides updates to management
* Monitors and corrects interface errors
* Supports data cleansers and accounting teams to resolve any EDI related billing issues.
* Periodically test and approve bug fixes and system updates as necessary
* Manage and maintain âprimary data owner authorizationsâ for receipt of data from trading partners,
* Coordinates distribution of âlong stay reportsâ to operations and field staff
* Requirements:
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
* Industry experience dealing with logistics, transportation, shipping or distribution
* Experience in Data Analysis including SQL, advanced Excel and MS Access skills
* Experience extracting and analyzing data using System Query Language highly desirable
* Familiarity with using a business intelligence tool preferred
* Strong customer service and communication skills, both written and oral
* Good research and investigative skills
* Experience working with EDI standards
* Ability to function effectively in a fast paced, team oriented work environment
* Ability to meet deadlines
* Ability to work independently as well as contribute to the overall success of the team
