Listed below are the upcoming February 2016 Networking Events. Allmeetings are open to the public, plus you are welcome and strongly encouragedto attend.
Many of the organizations listed below offer networking meetingsthat convene monthly, semi-monthly, or weekly. Try to attend at least one ortwo meetings a week. Many of these groups convene in the evening, so it willnot take time away from your daily job search activities. Plus, they haveinteresting speakers who offer valuable tips on: 1) Resume preparation, 2)Effective job search techniques, 3) Interviewing, 4) Post Interview Follow-up,5) LinkedIn, 6) Branding, 7) Time Management, and various other helpful jobsearch related topics.
Think of these meetings as opportunities, sort of like going toschool, to learn something that can reduce your time in transition by gainingknowledge in job search and interviewing skills needed to excel and standoutfrom your competition.
Also, in order to maximize your network, try to attend meetings indifferent geographical areas, but especially in towns where you are targetingcompanies that you would like to work for. Not only will you learn valuable jobsearch skills, but greatly expand your circle of friends. Who knows, the personyou meet at one of these networking events may be able to introduce you to ahiring manager at one of your target companies.
In traveling to these events, consider carpooling. Not only will it reduce the cost of drivingthere, but the friendly conversation will make the ride seem to go much faster.

Make it a point to join a few groups in your area;what you learn at these meetings will definitely help shorten your time intransition. In addition to the great in-person meetings listed below, many ofthese informative presentations are recorded and the podcasts can be viewed24/7 on-line, when time allows. Tuesdays, February9th – March 8th from 7:00 - 9:00 pm: The Princeton Adult School will offer class # 162 titled: Learn to Re-enter the Job Market, which will be taught by Alex Freund, a career and interviewingcoach. Finding satisfying work in adifficult job market is quite a challenge. Spend five evenings this falllearning important techniques to help make getting that great job a reality. Inthis series we will cover such topics as: how to respond correctly to interviewquestions such as tell me about your-self, how to prepare a winning resume, howto be efficient when networking, and how to craft your elevator pitch. You willhave an opportunity to improve your verbal and written communication skills,plus learn about LinkedIn and other social media.
