This is the core set. We don t expect that the candidate will be
strong in every one of these subjects but they should be in a number
of them. Having development experience is mandatory.
Experience of development in Visual Studio or .Net or Java on Windows
platform (C++\C#\Java)
Experience in MSBuild\nant\
Experience of Continuous Integration tools such as Cruise Control, TeamCity..
Scripting in a language such as Python, Perl, windows shell
Administrator or thorough knowledge of SVN\CVS or other version control system

SUMMARY
Take an active part in the Software Configuration Management of Fixed
Income's Electronic Trading and Deal Capture Application development
and Maintenance Programme. Your purpose will be to support the
Configuration and Data Management by establishing and maintaining the
integrity of work products using configuration identification,
configuration control, and configuration audits.
Having experience in software development .net\Java will be essential.
This can be in C# , Java , C++. The remit will also be to ensure that
the dev, uat and regression environments are fit for use for New York
use on a day to day basis. This will include reviewing the New York
environments and ensuring that sufficient attention is given to tasks
such as breaks in builds with a view to fix as soon as possible and
keeping the dev team informed of progress. The candidate will be able
to setup .net builds from scratch and have familiarity working with
solution files. Having experience of creating MSBuild files will be
essential.
Technology environment:
Server OS : Windows 2003
Workstation: Windows (XP professional)
Development languages : C#\C++, .net, Java
Database : SQL Server, ORACLE 10g
Scripting\Language : Java nant, WSH scripting, Python

Knowledge/Skills/
5+ yrs IT experience with 3+ yrs in Software configuration Management
activities.
In depth knowledge of Windows OS 2003
Experience in developing software in .net (or substantial experience
with Java\C++)
Experience in writing Windows scripts
Experience of version control system such as Subversion
Experience in tools for continuous integration of builds such as
Cruise Control\TeamCity
Experience of branching in source code control systems
Experience of Visual Studio and the C++ compiler
Knowledge of Build scripts using Ant\Nant, Make
Ability to troubleshoot server issues for build and performance
Experience with scripting language (Python\Perl\
Knowledge of SQL (Oracle preferred but not mandatory)
Advantage if experience with TibCo Rendevous communication.
Advantage if familiar with deployment tools (such as BladeLogic)
Knowledge on merging tools such as Araxis.
Knowledge on view, branch (stream), config-spec, baseline in Config.
Management tool
Hands -on Experience in Windows and\or Perl Scripting
Knowledge on build such as make-file, compiler and linker
Perform and check build, and take necessary action.
Ability to learn integrating and configuring 3rd party tools used for
CM related purpose
Be aware of a release e.g. steps to perform pre and pro build
Experience\Knowledg
Evaluation of new tool (and/or version of a tool)
Knowledge of the capital markets industry is desirable, but not essential
Knowledge on Databases
Experience in JIRA ( Issue Management tool)
Must approach work with team work in mind and be flexible to change priorities
Strong communication skills and self-motivation are a must
Good technical skills.
Able to provide appropriate technical solutions to business related problems.
