| NJ TRANSIT PART-TIME BUS OPERATOR CRITERIA: - Twenty one (21) years of age or older,
- High School Diploma or GED
- Possess three (3) years non -provisional driving experience with a valid New Jersey Driver's License (NOT A PROVISIONAL Driver's LICENSE), New Jersey Commercial Driver's License or a New York or Pennsylvania COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE with unrestricted airbrake and passenger endorsements
- Be able to obtain a validated New Jersey Commercial Driver's License permit that has been stamped indicating the passing of written tests for passenger, airbrake and general knowledge endorsements. The expiration date on the permit must be valid for at least fourteen (14) days beyond the first day of the scheduled training program,
- Safe driver with a good driving record and have less than five (5) accumulated points,
- Present a CERTIFIED COMPLETE RECORD (ABSTRACT) from the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission at the time of testing or interview (depending on your hiring status) that is less than ninety (90) days (3 months) old,
- Available to participate in the structured training program for twenty (20) to twenty four (24) business days, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am -4;30 pm {PERFECT ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED THROUGHOUT THE TRAINING PERIOD},
- Commitment to work schedule as needed during one (1) or both peak commuter rush hour periods; either 5:00 am to 9:00 am and/or 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm,
- Read, write, and speak the English language,
- Pass all phases of the written test,
- Pass interview and physical examination which consists of a drug, alcohol, and tuberculosis test,
- Accept the current rate of pay, $ 15.07 per hour at the completion of training or after 30 calendar days of employment, or whichever comes first,
To obtain a validated New Jersey Commercial Driver's License Permit, consult your local New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission for specific requirements. Commercial Driver's License Manual may be obtained on the internet. NEW YORK DRIVERS:The New York State Driver's Privacy Protection Act requires the submission of a Request for Driver Record Information Form with an attached copy of your driver's license. The fee FOR THE NEW JERSEY CERTIFIED COMPLETE RECORD / (ABSTRACT) is $ 15.00 and a DRIVER'S LICENSE is required. |
