Manager of Software Quality Assurance

The Manager of Software Quality Assurance ensures the efficiency, integrity
and successful implementation of information technology systems,
specifically the software of the organization.

The Manager is responsible for definition and implementation of IT quality
assurance practices and procedures, as well as managing quality assurance
analysts who test and validate IT initiatives and identify quality issues in
software or services. Analyzes discrepancies in service or performance and
makes recommendations for product or service updates and is familiar with
industry best practices.

The Manager also serves as a technical expert to staff and other personnel,
and fosters understanding of the information technology services. Other
responsibilities include the review of technical specifications and
requirements for new systems or improvements to existing systems. The
Manager will plan, coordinate and direct staff in the quality assurance team
and develops programs, policies and procedures to ensure continuous
improvement of information technology services and maintenance of system
integrity. Other management responsibilities include overseeing quality
aspects of programming and testing of software programs and associated
training.

Responsibilities

* Provide input for annual operating plan on staff levels, tools,
hardware, software, and training.
* Development of test effort estimation based on requirements and
scope (Time, Effort, Resources).
* Coordinates quality assurance tasks across various areas of
responsibility and multiple technology platforms and services.
* Leads multiple QA projects and oversees IT staff to ensure that
specifications are met on time and within budget.
* Fosters best practices for quality assurance by establishing
processes and testing methodologies to ensure compliance with recognized
standards and practices.
* Accountable for the overall quality of major projects, specifically
the testing and documentation efforts.
* Ensures effective communication between user communities and IT
staff and provides status reports to senior management and ensures
appropriate standards.
* Improves business processes and supports critical business
strategies by managing the development, implementation and maintenance of IT
QA processes.
* Establishes testing policies, procedures and prioritization of
testing assignments.
* Develops test plans, encompassing unit, system, integration,
functional, performance, regression, and user acceptance testing.
* Develops and publishes quality metrics and conducts periodic process
and system audits; prepares and communicates audit reports.
* Uses quality metrics to drive process improvements or identify
project issues/risks.
* Identifies and deploys testing tools to maintain alignment with
industry trends and testing best practices.
* Reviews documentation for completeness, accuracy and correctness and
manages the corrective actions.
* Interprets regulatory agency requirements and participates in
special projects as required.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent
combination of education, skills and experience; MS in Computer Science
preferred
* PMP certification a plus.
* 5+ years project management experience, emphasis on planning and
tracking concurrent initiatives.
* 5+ years in QA/BA role.
* 3+ years direct management experience.
* 5+ years SQA or software development experience in a commercial
software development environment, preferably with complex web applications
and Internet-based products.
* Software test experience in a regulated environment, ideally Pharma
R&D.
* Experience in Life Sciences industry preferred.
* Must possess a solid understanding of software development and
testing methodologies.
* Experience with supervision and management of off-shore resources
and/remote teams and resources.
* Experience with test automation concepts, tools, and methodologies
required.

Strong ability to document and follow ITIL change, incident and problem
management procedure.

Overview
Our client is seeking a UX Researcher who will assist with a variety of research methods to better understand how people use the company's internal and external-facing sites, features and applications. As part of the UX CoE, there will also be opportunities to shadow employees in related disciplines such as UX Design, Digital Analytics and SEO.

This is a 3-month W-2 contract in Stamford, CT

Skills and Qualifications
* 5-7 years of experience in User Experience research and design
* Undergraduate degree in UX Design, H.C.I., Cognitive Sciences, Liberal Arts or related field; Masters degree preferred or related experience.
* Experience designing, conducting and analyzing user research studies for desktop and mobile using the following methodologies: Usability studies (benchmark, comparative, iterative, prototype, remote); Heuristic Reviews; Card sorting; Concept testing; Cognitive walkthroughs; Diary studies; Field research; Survey design
* Experience with Morae, Optimizely and third-party unmoderated user testing platforms such as UserZoom, UserTesting.com, etc.
