The next Northern Fairfield Professionals (NFP) meeting is Tuesday, August 9.

Please join us for networking, followed by an elevator speech workshop where attendees will have the opportunity to practice their elevator speech and connect on any potential leads. Meet and network with peers, managers, local business owners, and professionals.

NFP is where people meet to expand their network connections, as well as learn the tools needed to advance their careers. Business professionals from all industries and career levels are welcome to attend our monthly meetings.

Our philosophy is to build reciprocal relationships where business professionals can exchange ideas, job leads, and build networking skills.

We usually have a guest speaker discuss a topic of interest for business professionals.

Northern Fairfield Professionals (NFP) meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 5:30 - 8 pm. Attendance to NFP is free.

Networking from 5:30-6:00pm with a speaker presentation from 6:00pm to 7:30. Networking until 8 pm.

Location: The Knights of Columbus building at Saint Rose in Newtown CT, located at 46 Church Hill Road; behind Saint Rose church to the far left.

Please go in the entrance for Saint Rose church and drive in back of the church to the far left.

The building has 3 garage doors on the first floor with the meeting room upstairs.

The entrance is the door on the left front of the building.

Our client is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer who will be involved in Linux team meetings, and perform Linux systems build, decommissioning of legacy systems, patching systems and other related functions.

This is a 6 month w-2 contract located in Trumbull, CT.

Skills and Requirements

* 3-5 years experience

* Experience with RHEL (provisioning, management, patching, decommissioning)

* Experience with configuration management using puppet and Satellite

* Review, diagnose and respond to monitoring and logging

* Ability with scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, or Python

* Create and maintain IT documentation

* Storage experience with oracle asm, nfs, lvm

Front End Developer- Javascript Developer  contract in Stamford, CT

Overview
Our client is looking for a Front-end / Javascript Developer who will build and support high-profile, highly interactive, extremely fast customer-facing web and mobile applications using expert knowledge of core web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript). The individual will collaborate with design and engineering team members to deliver these apps in highly scalable ways, integrating well-designed front-end architectures with template frameworks and complex back-end data and content management systems.

This is a W-2 contract-to-hire position in Stamford, CT. Initial contract duration is about 4-months, but the right candidate could offered Full-time Employment sooner.

Required Skills / Experience
* 5-7 years of developing and delivering customer facing web or mobile experiences
* Expert knowledge of front-end web technologies including HTML5, CSS, AJAX, DOM Scripting, and W3C DOM methods and properties
* Extensive work with JavaScript and CSS Frameworks (like JQuery, Twitter/Bootstrap) and JS micro frameworks (Handlebars experience a plus)
* Must be able to show portfolio or examples of sophisticated front-end solutions
* Strong technical knowledge and skills in object-oriented design as applied to user interface development including software design patterns, MVC architecture, and deployment architectures
* Deep knowledge of web UI architecture and presentation layer technologies such as JSP, XHTML, and Freemarker
* Strong understanding and experience of web services, REST, JSON, SOAP, XSD, and XML
* Experience with developing for mobile form factors and/or progressive enhancement techniques
* Technology implementation experience in a Java environment
* Strong ability to translate requirements into quick prototypes for iterative user feedback
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written and group presentations)
* Extensive experience with custom WordPress solutions (themes, plugins, Etc)

Nice To Have
* Solid understanding of mobile UI design and best practices, application architecture principles (client-side scripting, web service tiers, database storage, caching, etc)
* Experience with native or hybrid mobile app development experience (PhoneGap a plus)
* Experience using standard development frameworks such as Hibernate, Spring, Struts
* Experience with XML technologies like XSD, XSL, XPATH
