Approximate contract length is 5+ months Rate: 46/hr Duties: Purpose: Assess and support financial process development and discipline across Finance to create standardization and consistency of financial procedures and tasks to mitigate financial risk and improved efficiencies for National Grid. Key Requirement: Perform controls within US NG standards, working within SOX scope. Deliver high quality documentation on schedule, within budgeted time. Travel to multiple NG locations is required – (Tri-State, Long Island, Up State NY, Mass, NJ, RI, and any other NG locations as needed). Other Potential Responsibilities: Provide support within the Financial Services area to grow core capabilities surrounding documentation, review and recordkeeping of financial transactions. Challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek ways to do things better and implement those ways into the financial processes in order to drive greater efficiencies within the financial controls area. development and communication of financial processes across Financial Services and the Lines of Business to enhance process owners understanding and ownership of process design and controls. Work with management to align financial risk assessments and control procedures and to translate them into well defined processes and procedures in order to support compliance and ongoing innovation within National Grid. Assist in translating business objectives into clearly defined financial processes, policies and procedures to create awareness of best practices and drive standardization of processes to maximize internal control effectiveness and efficiency. Provide insight and prepare control recommendations to management concerning process improvement opportunities. Skills: Capability Requirements: Analytical Thinking: Sees multiple relationships within the Financial processes, identifying several likely causes or consequences of a situation. Conceptual Thinking: Ability to see patterns or trends in the financial processes, notices when something is similar to a past situation. Impact and Influence: Adapts approach for individuals, team, business partners, senior management, etc., considers what is important to the audience and tailors the content and tone of the message accordingly..
