Position Responsibilities Summary
My client has an immediate need at their Boston location for an experienced
Software Implementation Project Manager. In this position, you will be the
primary interface between the firm and their customers in all matters
related to their software deployments, upgrades, and other types of
services.
Reports to the VP of Professional Services.
Detailed Responsibilities:
· Primary contact for customers; understands and manages customer
expectations and business needs; building and sustaining positive
relationships.
· Participate in defining project scope, estimating budgets and
contract development as required.
· Develop and manage project schedules including resource plans.
· Direct business analysts, software engineers, and technical and
non-technical staff in the installation, integration, modification, and
enhancement of large-scale and complex enterprise software applications.
· Track and monitor the progress of all functional areas throughout
the implementation process.
· Ensure on-time achievement of project milestones and deliverables,
delivering your projects according to schedule, within budget, and
profitably.
· Ensure accurate reporting of time and materials expended on
projects to internal management and the customer.
· Provides timely written and/or verbal communication regarding
project status to internal and Customer Management team.
· Must be willing to work in a fast-paced, customer-driven
environment.
· 25% travel required.
Required Skills and Competencies:
· Bachelor's degree and at least 7 years of demonstrated successful
project management experience for a software vendor.
· PMP certification preferred.
· Strong appreciation of business issues and a comprehensive
understanding of software and information technology.
· Project budget management experience is essential, with experience
in moderate- to high-revenue projects.
· Demonstrated expertise in communicating with executive sponsors
with excellent written and oral communication skills at all levels of senior
management.
· Prior experience managing customized enterprise software
implementations involving data conversion preferred.
· Prior experience at an insurance company or in insurance-related
applications is highly desirable, along with customer-facing software vendor
experience.
· Ability to work effectively independently and as a member of a
team.
· Superior oral and written communication skills, presentation
skills, and excellent interpersonal and customer relationship skills, at all
levels of the organization, as required.
· Must be an excellent multi-tasker, able to handle multiple
priorities and projects.

planning including defining requirements for high availability solutions for
critical applications or services that cannot tolerate system down time.
· Formulates processes, procedures and tools for Crisis Management
· Develops and maintains all enterprise Business Continuity
policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines
· Conduct risk assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of existing
business continuity plans and preparations and determine the impact of
proposed changes to business processes, applications and systems. Develop
recommendations to mitigate risks through the appropriate use of technical,
procedural, and administrative controls in accordance with legal and
regulatory requirements and established industry best practice.
· Works directly with business areas to lead the preparation and
maintenance of business impact assessments, recovery plans, procedures and
preparations. Act as an advocate and liaison between business and technical
areas to ensure that recovery requirements and issues are identified and
effectively addressed.
· Establish an ongoing training program to ensure employee awareness
of their Business Continuity responsibilities. Ensure all personnel with
specific Business Continuity responsibilities are adequately trained to
fulfill those responsibilities.
· Maintain contact with appropriate city, county, state, and federal
emergency organizations that may be involved during a recovery effort.
Establish and maintain contacts with critical vendors that may be required
to provide support during a recovery effort.
· Provide leadership for any emergency that may require activation
of all or part of the Business Continuity plans. In the event that
activation is required, provide leadership and support to assist the Crisis
Management team (i.e. senior management) and the business unit recovery
teams.
Required Skills and Competencies:
