Hi all,

As determined by a vote from our members, and due to logistic and
scheduling issues around the holidays, there will be no Temple Community
Network meeting in December. Please DO NOT come to Barnert Temple on
December 22nd, no one will be there....

Next month, TCN will meet on Monday, January 26th with special guest
speaker Alex Freund. Stay tuned for more information to come.

Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator who will join the Infrastructure Team to provide system administration, support, performance testing and monitoring of Linux OS (RHEL 5.x, 6.x) and VMware ESXi 5.5 environments. The role will be responsible for virtualization, hosted infrastructure, web and other critical Linux servers in a dynamic production environment and the indvidiual will help to design and implement production infrastructure and will install, configure, document and manage Linux systems, applications, VMware and F5 load balancers.

Production and DevOps environments utilize the following platforms; VMware vSphere 5.5, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Apache, Tomcat, MariaDB, Git, Maven and Jenkins. Focus on automation, scalability, high-availability, and re-architecture. Knowledge of the following systems is beneficial; CFengine, NewRelic, Zenoss (Nagios), MONyog (MySQL), Logstash or Greylog, ManageIQ, OpenQRM

This is a fulltime permanent role in Madison, CT

Skills and Experience:
* Bachelor's Degree in a related field and six years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Extensive experience with Linux operating systems and utilities, tools and applications used to install, configure, document and maintain systems and applications.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and document complex procedures.
* Thorough understanding of Networking and DNS
* 4+ years of VMWare ESXi systems administration experience
* 3+ years of experience with configuration management tools (Puppet preferred)
* 5+ years UNIX/Linux system administration, CentOS or RHEL based system preferred
* 5+ years of scripting experience with bash and one or more of the following Python, Ruby, PHP
* 5+ years of experience with version control systems (Git preferred)
* Strong experience with current web and Internet technologies like Apache, Queues, Tomcat, JBoss, Java, MySQL etc
* Experience with monitoring tools like Zabbix, Nagios and/or NewRelic
* Have a broad understanding of development, web operations and SDLC
* Knowledge of PCI compliance, Application layer and operations layer security and OWASP mandates preferred
* Detailed knowledge of Implementation and maintenance of high availability (HA) and highly scalable systems
* Red Hat Certifications, Linux CompTIA, Security, VMware are Preferred
