Overview
Our client is seeking a Technical Lead who will guide and mentor a team of
developers to build, test, roll out and support Identity and Integration
solutions interconnecting proprietary, internal, and cloud-based
applications primarily in Java. This is a hands-on role and the individual
will lead and drive establishing standards, best practices, and methodology
covering the entire integration software lifecycle in conjunction with the
Senior Solutions Architect.
This is a fulltime permanent employee position in New Haven, CT
Qualifications and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in a related field and eight to ten years of
related work experience with at least two year as a technical team leader.
* Able to lead and drive a team to deliver breakthrough results.
* Deep knowledge of several of the following with exposure to many
others:
* Virtual Directory Service (VDS, from Radian Logic), AD, ADFS,
Shibboleth, CAS, , Linux/Unix admin with strong knowledge of core java
skills: Java, J2EE, XML, JSP, JSF, JMS, RESTful, Spring Framework, Spring
Web Services, J2EE Design Patterns, Eclipse IDE;
* JavaScript, JSP/Servlets;
* Web technologies: XML, SPML/SOAP, Web and Application Servers, HTML;
* Oracle or SQL Server;
* Desired technologies: Identity IQ (Sailpoint IIQ from), Layer7 SOA

Responsibilities:
* Highly visible, leadership position responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing software releases and ad-hoc break-fix production change events.
* Effectively communicates software delivery schedules (e.g. code freeze / code lock down / install dates).
* Assists with test environment shakeout and readiness; tracks defect resolution and testing progress.
* Escalates and troubleshoots defects / issues with partner teams (business analysts, testing teams, environments management, DBAs, WebSphere, etc.).
* Serves as a liaison between various technology partner teams to promote timely delivery of working software to production environments.
* Creates implementation plans and communicates changes with release delivery dates/times as needed.
* Identifies and mitigates risks (promotes collision avoidance during release preparation, planning, and execution).
* Facilitates implementation readiness meetings with business / technical partners (datacenter bleeds, code installs, certification windows, etc.).
* Provides support for successful execution of production release deployments and certifications activities.
* Communicates timely release status updates to business and technology partners.
* Attends external enterprise and ecommerce release management teams' status calls as needed.
* Captures lessons learned during development and release activities for retrospective / post-mortem analysis (reflects on how to become more effective and adjust accordingly).
Required:
* Consultant should have 10+ years of experience
* 5+ years relevant project management experience
* Strong exposure to risk management, Process governance
* Expertise in Microsoft Project/PM Tools and MS Office Suite
* Budget Management
* Knowledge of CMMI, ITIL process is a plus
* PMP certification and/or other industry and project management certifications
