Position Responsibilities - Summary
My client's Global Trading System is available on a 24-hour per day basis,
supporting Equity, Fixed Income and Derivatives trading in all global
markets. The Equity Trading team seeks a Lead Systems Analyst who will
contribute to all aspects of the definition, implementation, and support of
the Trading Order Management System which is used by the Equity Trading
Desk. This position requires a high level of direct interaction with traders
and software developers, excellent analytical and communication skills,
strong trading domain knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple
priorities.
Responsibilities:
* Partner with the Equity Trading business to identify and define
business requirements
* Document requirements and work with the development, QA, and
support teams to ensure that all team members understand the business needs
* Work closely with traders to prioritize needs and ensure
communication to keep them apprised of progress
* Provide thought leadership and direction for team members and
consultant partners to ensure that delivery is performed according to
standards and in conformity with business requirements.
* Take ownership for the delivery of value-added trading
functionality
* Possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a
big-picture vision, and an ability to work with various internal teams to
execute on that vision.
* Provide overall Project Management direction to ensure that
deliverables are on track
* Partner, Technical and QA Leads on estimates, statuses, identify
issues and raise risks
* Stay current with evolving Trading industry and technical trends
to ensure systems and team are of highest caliber
* Assist with system testing, deployment, training and support of
the Trading Application
Required Skills and Competencies:
* 8+ years BA or systems analysis experience in trading or
portfolio management
* 3+ years in a leadership role
* Demonstrated experience in project management and business
analysis, preferably in trading or portfolio management
* Strong client management skills
* Strong knowledge of Buy Side Equity trading practices and market
* Strong knowledge of order management systems (OMS), Financial
Information eXchange protocol (FIX), electronic trading practices and
markets
* Experience with Charles River, Latent Zero, EZCastle or Calypso
is a plus
* Self-motivated and willing to work on an energetic, fast-paced
team
* Experience supporting investment or trading professionals
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills
* Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
* Experience with Oracle/SQL, PL/SQL, VBA, or Java considered a
plus
* Bachelor's degree required
* A CFA or demonstrated progress toward a CFA would be considered a
plus
Keys to this Position:
1) Domain knowledge: Experience interfacing with Traders or Portfolio
Managers is required. Preferably Equities experience but we will also look
at Fixed Income and FIX.
2) Strong Systems Analysis skills.
3) Strong Leadership and Client Relationship skills.
4) Formal Project Management skills.
5) Technical: SQL skills. Must be able to query the database using SQL.
6) Sources: Buy Side, Sell Side or Investment Management Software
vendors.
7) Selling Points: This individual will have direct Interaction with
the Trading Desk; Can sit on the desk and be involved with industry changing
discussion on the Equity Markets.
