Director Applications Development New York City Overview: This individual has responsibility for all aspects of application development and management for a set of applications within the Individual Life group. The role requires collaboration with senior business managers regarding technology and process solutions to ensure that they support the strategic direction of the business. This position has responsibility for highly complex projects that span the Individual Life business area.
The individual leads a team of approximately 60-80 I/T professionals, both employee and consultant located onshore and offshore. Budgetary responsibility is between $6-8MM. The individual must lead these resources to ensure delivery of key projects as well as assure the availability and stability of a number of business critical applications.
Responsibilities:
This individual must develop a deep understanding of both the systems under their management and the business processes they support. Key challenges include working with partners in all levels within the business to prioritize initiatives, assess feasibility, recommend and implement the optimal technical solution and ensuring resources are most efficiently aligned against those initiatives.
