Dear ASTD MidNJ Chapter Colleague,
The nascent Instructional Design SIG has arranged for a course on Captivate 6.0, Adobe's latest elearning authoring tool taught by an Adobe Certified trainer, to begin on September 13 in Piscataway, NJ (details to follow).
The course is limited to ten students and registration is filling up fast. A waiting list will be established for another class planned in early 2013. The course is for 4 evenings over 5 weeks (no class the last week of September) for three hours per night (see schedule below).
We were able to secure the low cost of only $200 per person if ten people participate, $225 for a class of 9, $250 for a class of 8) -- that is for the whole session, not a per class cost.
This is a beginner's course (see course description below). The course covers all the topics that are normally addressed in AdobeÕs two-day basic Captivate course. No prior experience with Captivate is needed or assumed.
You must bring your own laptop. PC is preferred since there have been reported bugs using Captivate on the Mac version. The training manual, Adobe Captivate 6: The Essentials by Kevin Siegel, will be used during the class and can be purchased on Amazon.com for about $40. If you do not own or wish to purchase Captivate 6, it is recommended that you download the 30-day free trial one or two days before the first class so that you have access to the software for the duration of the course.
To register, go to http://midnj.astd.org/events?eventId=541228&EventViewMode=EventDetails
If the event is closed due to the limit of attendees being reached, please contact the VP Programs, Ronni Rubenstein, Ronni.Rubenstein@midnj.astd.org , for your name and email address to be placed on a waiting list for the next course, which is planned for early 2013.
