Location: New York, NY
Position Type: Contractor
Genuent seeks a MS Windows Server Administrator to assist with
implementation of a cyber security management system for a small group of
WAN-connected assets.
Experience:
Must be familiar with Windows Server 2008 environment, Active Directory,
SQL, anti-virus/anti-malware tools, and various tools for network
monitoring, system log management, patch management, and change management.
Server hardware/software support, testing and creating processes to
generate reports as evidence of standards compliance.
Establish and maintain user accounts, profiles, file sharing, access
privileges, and databases.
Assist with establishing and troubleshooting remote connectivity using
VPNs.
Set up processes to back up critical data, perform failover operations,
and other incident response processes.
Assist with validating and contributing to documentation.
LAN/WAN management and administration including system configuration,
setup, troubleshooting, and user support
Working knowledge Internet, e-mail systems, telecommunications and data
communications; standard operating systems, software packages, and software
utilities
Records maintenance and storage for local and distributed environments
Skill:
Maintain data networks and servers;
Provide technical support to users;
Administer day-to-day operation of networks and servers;
Implement LAN/WAN maintenance/Admin and management procedures;
Communicate effectively in both oral and written form - explain technical
concepts in non-technical terms;
Read, interpret and apply technical instructions; information on
technological changes and updates
Prioritize requests, organize, schedule, and coordinate a variety of
activities and projects;
Ability to learn new software and hardware packages
Work independently and as a team member
Education - Any combination of education and training equivalent to
possession of a bachelor's degree in computer science, information
engineering or other related areas;
such education should be at a level which demonstrates the ability to
perform duties comparable to those listed herein. Possession of a Network
Administration Certificate is preferred.
*Possession of a valid driver's license; ability and willingness to travel
on work assignments; willingness to work additional hours during the week
and/or weekend, if required.
