Description
Our client is seeking a Project Manager to be responsible for the overall
management of the Hyperion Planning/Essbase application, including
enhancements, improvements and upgrades (to version 11). The PM will help
the global financial planners and internal clients adopt new applications
and features to maximize and make effective use of the system, as well as
help to continually improve the production & delivery of regular
reporting/analytics.
Qualifications and Experience
. Must have a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting,
IT, Business or related field
. Project Management/Process Improvement
. Ability to learn about technology/new financial systems and ways
to implement them as solutions and solve problems. Hyperion (super-user)
experience preferred
. Experience communicating/interacting with a highly involved user
base of Financial Planners and Managers.
. PMP certification also would be a plus- not required

We are representing a stealth world leader in banking and financial services located in Midtown, NYC for a 6+ months contracting opportunity working as the Project Manager as part of a small team delivering production ready business features and enhancements in support of the New York Credit Trading Business. Particular attention will be paid to the ability to define specifications and project plans. This role will involve working directly with the trading desk and the ideal candidate must be comfortable working in a fast paced front office environment.
The New York Credit Technology Development team operates as part of a Global Credit Technology team to develop systems used for the Credit Trading activity. It is a Front Office facing team which works directly with Traders and Business Management to provide high quality solutions both locally or as contributions to global platforms. The New York Credit Trading business has ambitious growth plans and this is a new role in support of these initiatives.
What you'll be doing:
* Capture user requirements and define appropriate solutions in line with the aims of the business and IT strategy.
* Produce written specifications, ensuring they are reviewed and validated by users, peers and other stakeholders.
* Produce accurate project plans, ensuring sufficient resources are provisioned, and that risks and dependencies are identified and managed.
* Work with stakeholders across various functional lines to ensure that projects are progressed and statuses within the area are reported in regular steering to sponsors.
* Define testing, integration plans and user sign off criteria for delivery.
* Take primary responsibility for the delivery of your projects, with focus on their quality, timeliness and cost. What you need:
* Strong and proven ability to manage and deliver IT projects (Proven experience managing projects in front office environment).
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with people in different teams. Strong project management ability (Proven experience managing regular steering meetings with business sponsors and stakeholders).
* Prior experience working at an Investment Banking. Nice To Have Skills:
* Prior experience working in a Trading Environment (Fixed Income or Equities preferred)
* Prior knowledge of Fixed Income and Equity Products (Corporate Bonds, CDS, ETFs, esp.)
* Knowledge of SDLC and prior experience working on software development projects.
* Academic Background Bachelor degree in an applicable subject matter (Engineering, Computer Science, Math, etc.)
