Position: Divisional Portfolio Director
A major healthcare services organization located in New Jersey has engaged
us to identify a Divisional Portfolio Director [DPD]. This is a newly
created position and will report to the Senior Director of Enterprise PMO
who reports to the Corporate CIO. The position has been developed to bring
enhanced vision, leadership and program/portfolio delivery to the
business/IT relationship as the organization goes through extensive and
ongoing service model transformation.
Main responsibilities:
. The DPD will assume responsibility for providing leadership and
direction to a portfolio of IT and business projects and programs in support
of a selected number of key divisional business strategies. Annual
portfolio size will be approximately $50 MM, with a total cost range of
between $100MM - $200MM.
. This individual will play a key role in managing the delivery of
mission critical programs and portfolios for the two main vectors of change
in the organization: business operations and IT organization.
. The DPD will recruit, develop and manage staffs of up to 50
professionals
. Will provide oversight and management direction of divisional
projects/programs, facilitate project/program reviews of key enterprise
activities, ensure tools and processes are operating effectively and
efficiently, and ensure all EPMO deliverables meet quality standards
. The DPD will also manage internal and external systems/application
development projects from inception to successful implementation
. Will be primary point of contact for portfolio status, conducting
monthly portfolio reviews with SVPs and core portfolio management team
Background and skills required:
. A results driven IT Leader with demonstrated success in delivering
large-scale, complex and multi-million dollar IT application programs and
projects with a track record of achieving deliverables on time and on budget
in support of a variety of business groups across the enterprise.
. Proven ability to influence decisions, motivate teams, excel under
pressure, and adapt to new and changing environments, as well as work
collaboratively with all levels of leadership.
. Preferred is a career path reflecting 10 - 15 years progressive
advancement in an applications development track, with a minimum of five
years at the Director level
. Experience managing multi-year programs/portfolios with budgets of
at least $25MM
. Strong track record as a change agent helping drive business model
transformations is key
. Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and motivate professional
staffs to perform at their best
. A demonstrated talent for conceptualizing, documenting, presenting
and selling creative solutions to senior IT and business management
. A strong ability to develop and maintain a high level of trust and
confidence from business unit leadership
. 1+ years experience managing a PMO or a sound conceptual
understanding of same is desired
. A background in Healthcare or Pharmaceuticals is preferred, not
required
. Degrees: BA/BS required; MS in Computer Science, Business
Administration or Engineering strongly preferred. An MBA with extensive
project management experience is highly preferred
. PMP certification is preferred, not required
