FACILITIES MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST
Under direction, the Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing more complex tasks, the nature of which will eliminate the need to rely on contractors.
RESPONSIBILITIES (some, not all, listed here):
- Replacement of windows, doors, flooring, sheetrocking, painting spackling
- Basic plumbing repair
- Basic electrical repair
- Ensure the work is performed in a timely and efficient manner
- Inspect subcontracted service providers as assigned
- Complete work orders as assigned
- Respond to after hours calls as necessary
- Remove snow; salt and sand when necessary
- Perform landscaping
- Plus any other duties that may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS (some, not all, listed here):
- An Associate Degree, high school diploma or trade school certificate and relevant experience
- 10 YEARS EXPERINCE IN THE BUILDING TRADES A MUST
- Experience in apartment maintenance is a plus
- Knowledge of heating and cooling, appliance repair
- Basic electricity
- Advanced carpentry
- Plumbing
- Safety
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (some, not all, listed here):
- Must have the ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions, both hot and cold
- The ability to lift more than 50 lbs. for the installation and removal of appliances
- The ability to kneel, crouch, climb and crawl in awkward spaces and buildings
- The ability to operate all hand tools to make repairs and reach items in need of repairs
- The ability to operate snow blowers, lawn mowers, weed whackers, powerwashers, sewer snakes and any and all such equipment
TRANSPORTATION & DRIVER'S LICENSE:
- Must have dependable vehicle to allow for driving to and from job sites.
- Must possess a valid New Jersey drivers' license in good standing and be able to be covered under AHA auto insurance policy
TESTING:
All employees are required to submit to criminal, driving, drug, and personal reference checks as appropriate to their position
SALARY RANGE:
$18.00 to $20.50 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package
