Northern Fairfield Professionals (NFP) next meeting is tonight, Tuesday,
February 11, 2014.
Our guest speaker Clint Warren will present on Positioning Yourself as an
Expert Through Blogging, Meetup Groups, and Continued Learning .
NFP is where people meet to expand their network connections, as well as
learn the tools needed to advance their careers. Business professionals from
all industries and career levels are welcome to attend our monthly meetings.
Our philosophy is to build reciprocal relationships where business
professionals can exchange ideas, job leads, and build networking skills.
We usually have a guest speaker discuss a topic of interest for business
professionals.

Clint Warren left a job in finance 4 years ago to pursue a career in
personal training, getting sidetracked by web development while studying for
his certification. As his freelance business grew, he became actively
involved in local Meetup groups, began to write online, and speak whenever
possible, sharing everything he's learned in order to help others. He is
the founder of Illuminate WP, co-founder of Stacked Agency, and organizes 4
local meetup groups. His biggest passions are teaching, helping others, and
adding value wherever possible.

Overview
Our client is seeking a Marketing Communications (Marcom) Director who will manage a team that serves as the central point of contact between business units and the creative services team. The group focuses on the creation and execution of printed marketing collateral, develops content for marketing communications produces materials and writes and develops content when necessary. The Marcom Director will lead and prioritize projects with multiple components and deliverables and partner with other teams to improve product marketing strategies and tactics and produce more higher end materials.
This is a contract-to-hire position in Stamford, CT.
Required Skills
1. Strong project / process management, communication and problem solving skills.
2. Ability to translate business requirements into branded communications.
3. Strong multi-tasker with the ability to balance time amid shifting priorities

*Senior Project Manager Job **Description *
-The Senior Project Manager has primary responsibility to plan, track, and
manage to success the projects to which they are assigned.
-He/she will identify key stakeholders and help define the project
objectives.
-The Senior Project Manager manages projects according to (CLIENTS)
approved project frameworks, including both Agile and traditional project
management approaches.
-He/she must be able to take an active senior leadership role in the team
and create an environment that fosters the prescribed agile methods and
processes.
-Finally the Project Manager must be able to identify issues proactively,
resolve conflicts, escalate if necessary, and work across the organization
to execute the project.
*Project Manager Duties and Responsibilities:
-Understand and follow the (CLIENTS) project management frameworks for
project delivery.
-Identify, track, and remove impediments to project success.
-Review project requests and participate in the green-light process.
-Facilitate the creation of a well-defined Project Backlog or Project Plan.
-Manage Sprint and Release planning or development cycle.
-Assure that all team members understand and accept their roles and
responsibilities.
-Work with offshore development teams to tightly integrate them into their
project work streams.
-Making sure project resources are applied appropriately
-Pulling together upfront estimates of time and resource utilization.
-Facilitating change control and risk mitigation.
-Analyze risk and mitigation accordingly, including establishing
contingency plans and initiating corrective action.
-Track and report key project metrics.
-Track capital budgets and provide financial reports.
-Keep all stakeholders informed of status and issues.
-Manage relationships with the Product Team and/or stakeholders.
-Arbitrate and resolve conflict within the project.
-Coordinate participation of different tech and business groups in
requirements gathering, specifications, design, development and
implementation of key projects.
-Promulgate department-wide project and management processes.
-Learn, understand, and actively use project management software to
effectively manage project deliverables.
*Additional Sr. Project Manager Duties and Responsibilities:
-Manage larger and more critical/complex projects.
-May manage and mentor other Project Managers.
-May conduct performance and salary reviews, assist with career planning.
-Leverage advanced project management skills to identify process gaps and
introduce new approaches and solutions.
-Serve as a point of escalation for project-related conflicts.
-Participate in strategic planning with Portfolio and Operational
management.
*Qualifications:
-At least 7 years' experience managing projects, three in a senior position.
-Ability to lead and motivate people to encourage performance and teamwork.
-Ability to understand technologies applicable to a chosen project and
facilitate resolution of technical issues as they arise.
-Agile certification and/or PMP certification required.
-Strong leadership and communication skills
-Demonstrable superb written and verbal communications and presentation
skills.
*Experience with:*
-Agile or Lean methodologies and software engineering practices, as well as
traditional project management approaches.
-Managing Projects within a media company and/or in an online businesses
environment.
-Working with software developers, technical and business management,
department heads, product developers and QA teams.
-Management of offshore project teams.
-Enterprise project management and PPM systems.
-Supervising and mentoring staff and contractors.
-Budgeting and financial tracking in an enterprise environment.
-Strategic PMO planning and execution.
