DIRECTOR OF PRIVACY AND REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

SUMMARY:  Responsible for overseeing ongoing activities related to the organizations policies and procedures covering the privacy of, and access to all Private Health Insurance "PHI" in compliance with all federal and state laws and information privacy practices. 

INDUSTRY: A New York City firm with innovative point of service in medical groups. Their flexible and scalable platform drives tangible results across administrative, financial and clinical operations so that staff can focus on providing exceptional patient care.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Privacy policy and procedure development and implementation
* Maintenance of privacy policy and monitoring for compliance
* Investigation and mitigation of Privacy Breaches in conjunction with the Chief Privacy Officer
* Maintenance oversight to reasonably ensure that PHI is secure
* Provides development guidance and assists in the identification, implementation and maintenance of Policies and procedures in coordination with organization management and administration and legal counsel
* Reviews all system-related information security plans and systems/Application/ database development throughout the organization's network to ensure alignment between security and privacy practices
* Develops, reviews and publishes regular privacy and security awareness notifications
* Facilitates and ensures initial and ongoing HIPAA and privacy training and orientation to all employees, volunteers, contractors and other third parties
* Establishes and administers a process for receiving, documenting, tracking, investigating and taking action on all complaints concerning the organizations privacy policies and procedures
* Establishes a mechanism to define and track appropriate access to PHI by position within the organization
* Performs periodic reviews of policies and procedures
* Ensures compliance with privacy practices and consistent application of sanctions for failure to comply with privacy policies in cooperation with human resources and legal counsel if applicable
* Performs initial and periodic risk assessments and conducts related ongoing compliance monitoring activities to ensure compliance
* Maintains current knowledge of applicable federal and state privacy laws and accreditation standards, and monitors advancements in information privacy technologies
QUALIFICATIONS:

* BS required, advanced degree preferred
* Minimum of 10 years experience in Quality, Regulatory or other applicable fields, Regulatory Affairs Certification, Evidence of Training in HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
SALARY:  Up to $150k
