The project is to develop the ability to report notifiable messages to CDC
using HL7 2.5.1 messages. This position will develop the java application
used to configure and run the data exports from the clients electronic
disease surveillance system and map this exports to an HL7 2.5.1 message.
The HL7 messages will then be transmitted to CDC using PHIN-MS. The clients
current development environment is Java EE7, Tomcat 7, and PostGRES SQL 9.1,
as well as using MIRTH for the clients integration engine.

The steps in the project are:

* Develop project requirements document with project manager and
informatics staff
* Interact with subject matter experts to understand business
requirements, analyze user requirements, and design system creatures and
functionality accordingly
* Develop architectural layers, I.e., database, application server,
workflow, messaging and event management, and user interface
* Create data export data to HL7 message
* Transmit HL7 message to PHIN-MS
* Work with existing developers to integrate notification application
with the existing disease surveillance system
* Participate in preparing code and user documentation

The Client requires a minimum of the following experience

* 4 Years of Java Web Development (Java EE)
* 2 Years PostGRES SQL
* 2 Years HL7 Electronic Messaging (2.X prefer 2.5)
* 3 Years XML
* 2 Years Web Services Development
