Position Responsibilities - Summary

This individual will participate in full lifecycle development of Business
Process Management (BPM) applications following an Agile methodology,
including requirement analysis, software design and implementation, and
system testing.

This position requires the individual to design, code and implement BPM
solutions including workflow and User Interfaces using Appian software. Some
of these user interfaces would be built within a Java/J2EE application where
Appian would serve as a workflow engine. These workflows span across domains
in Investment Administration and beyond.

This individual's software abilities and experience must include hands-on
active development of workflows in Appian, understanding Appian architecture
especially within the Appian Cloud offering. The individual will design and
implement complex enterprise integrations with industry standard
technologies: Email, LDAP, Active Directory, and SAML and web services.

The individual must be able to assess business requirements, provide
feedback and suggest opportunities for improvements using Appian BPM
software. The individual must be able to relay to analysts how the design
meets business requirements through documentation and presentations. They
must be able to provide demonstrations to clients throughout the entire
project life-cycle

The individual will also support the development of user training materials.

Required Skills and Competencies:

* 7+ years overall IT experience

* 3+ years of hands-on Appian Development experience

* 2+ year of specialized experience in software delivery or software
development (Java/JEE).

* Experience with user interface technologies such as HTML and JSP

* Experience with Business Process Management Systems and Business
Process Management Notation (BPMN) or WS-BPEL

* Experience with Agile development methodology.

* Experience with configuration, deployment, and testing of
enterprise software applications.   

* Strong communication and presentation skills.

* Strong problem solving and design skills.

* Other technologies / languages - SQL, JavaScript, Web Services

Other facets of this role and other necessary skills:

* Propose and build reusable, supportable components to reduce
development time

* Rapid response to production issues - ability to diagnose complex
issues under pressure

* Ability to work closely with other senior software engineers,
analysts and QA engineers and to build consensus through open dialogue and
constructive feedback.

* Ability to quickly learn new framework technologies and process
tools

* Conduct code and design reviews

Minimum degree required: Bachelors in Math, Science, Engineering or Computer
Science
