The responsibility of the Intermodal Sales Manager (ISM)—bulk chemicals is to lead the sales/business development efforts and focus on customers with a significant truckload spend. This role emphasizes establishing new relationships and generating revenue growth; therefore, the ISM will be responsible for developing and executing action plans that will lead to successful signing of new business contracts. The ISM will be responsible for developing opportunities on their own in addition to being provided leads internally. The ISM will lead the sales cycle coordinating all information, activities & internal resources. The ISM will act as a business consultant to establish a collaborative relationship with prospects through an understanding of their business issues and present economically beneficial solutions. The ISM will lead cross-functional and multi-level teams to interface with potential customers. The ISM will know internal mission, policies, & structure to procure new business and maintain current business.
The organization has experienced tremendous growth over the past six years and should continue on that path. The position reports to the Global Head of Intermodal/Ocean Freight. The position is home office based. Approx 30-40% travel.
Skill sets….
- Hunter- Prospecting skills to identify new business.
- BS Degree
- At least five years experience in outside sales of bulk transportation in the chemical industry
- Closer—track record of closing the deal…documented on the resume
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
