Summary

Our client is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator who will join the
Infrastructure Team to provide system administration, support, performance
testing and monitoring of Linux OS (RHEL 5.x, 6.x) and VMware ESXi 5.5
environments.

The individual will help to design and implement production infrastructure
including virtualized, web and other critical Linux servers; install,
configure, document and manage Linux systems, applications, VMware and F5
load balancers.

This is a fulltime permanent role in Madison, CT

Skills and Experience:

* Bachelor's Degree in a related field and six years of related work
experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Extensive experience with Linux operating systems and utilities,
tools and applications

* Thorough understanding of Networking and DNS

* 4+ years of VMWare ESXi systems administration experience

* 3+ years of experience with configuration management tools (Puppet
preferred)

* 5+ years UNIX/Linux system administration (CentOS or RHEL preferred)

* 5+ years of scripting experience with bash, plus Python, Ruby and/or
PHP

* 5+ years of experience with version control systems (Git preferred)

* Strong experience with web technologies like Apache, Queues, Tomcat,
JBoss, Java, MySQL etc

* Experience with monitoring tools like Zabbix, Nagios and/or NewRelic

* Broad understanding of development, web operations and SDLC

* Detailed knowledge of Implementation and maintenance of high
availability (HA) and highly scalable systems

* Knowledge of PCI compliance, Application layer and operations layer
security and OWASP mandates preferred

* Red Hat Certifications, Linux CompTIA, Security, VMware are pluses

* Demonstrated ability to develop and document complex procedures.

Duration: 6-12 months

Job Description:

LINUX Administrator Key Skills :

•Working knowledge of RedHat RH 5.x , 6.x Linux system administration
•Install/upgrade of RedHat Linux using Kickstart
•Patch management, knowledge on RPM & YUM
•Kernel configuration and management,
•Configuration of operating system including network configuration,
Samba configuration, mounting storage, LVM, etc.
•Strong knowledge on LVM
•Networking
•System performance reporting
•Knowledge of Shell scripting
.Knowledge on Multipathing
.Advanced topics such as NIC bonding, Fiber Channel HBA setup, SAN
integration
•Working knowledge of TSM will be added advantage

Skills & Technical Background must include:

.Ability to work a flexible schedule to include 24x7 on call support and
production maintenance windows
.Ability to work independently, follow project plans and meet expected
timelines.
.Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
.Strong analytical and problem solving skills
