Requirements:
--- PhD in Polymer Chemistry; Material Science, or Chemical Engineering with 8+years INDUSTRIAL experience in plastics compounding and formulation andknowledge of additives, reactive extrusion, compatibility - polymers, nylon,PET, TPU, PVC, etc. --- US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (green card) isrequired. --- Extensive technical contacts within the industrial and academicengineering plastics community. --- Strong communication, creativity, andinnovation and project/program management skills and effective customerinterface experience. --- Capable of working in a cross-functional organizationwith demonstration of positive collaboration and leadership skills. --- Abilityto travel at least 30% of the time including some international.
Job Duties:
--- Conduct the primary technical interaction with engineering plasticscustomers to understand and develop value propositions to address customerneeds, in conjunction with the commercial team. --- Explore, identify, andunderstand customer needs, and assist customers in applying and qualifyingplastics products in their applications/ formulations. --- Translate customerrequirements into technical work plans and develop products as needed forachieving growth. --- Determine technical and commercial feasibility ofprojects/ products. --- Focus on trends in plastics industry and communicateopportunities and threats to rest of organization. --- Manage intellectualplastics property including assessing commercial viability, writing patentapplications, and coordinating with patent council. --- Implement stage gateinnovation processes as the subject matter expert. --- Convert technicalinformation into appropriate language and level for external and internaltechnical and commercial audiences â and routinely present material asrequired. --- Become an active member of global technology group and provideexpertise, consultation, and recommendations as assigned.
