Position Summary:
The Investor and Portfolio Technology (IPT) team seeks a Senior Systems
Analyst who will be responsible for providing systems and business analysis
on enhancements and major initiatives in support of the Portfolio Accounting
function. The objective of the team is to enhance our vendor portfolio
accounting application, Geneva (Advent/SS&C) and its integration points with
other systems to provide improved functionality such as withholdings tax,
derivatives processing capabilities, feeds processing and production of
accurate, near real time data flows into front office systems. Projects are
comprised of functional and systems enhancements as well as supporting new,
highly visible strategic initiatives.
This person should have a good understanding of portfolio accounting and
must be able to provide functional and technical requirements documentation,
integration/UAT test plans, and support for working through the entire
implementation life cycle. This individual must be a self-starter with the
ability to multi-task and work on a variety of assignments with people at
all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities:
* Partner with the Portfolio Accounting (Geneva) business team to
define and document requirements
* Champion the user's needs to the software and quality assurance
engineers
* Assist in the design, testing, and support of the main Portfolio
Accounting Application and its integration components
* Work collaboratively with IT and business teams across Wellington
(e.g. Compliance, Trading, Investment Management, Global Relationship
Management, and Investment Data Services).
* Document, track, and research production issues and work with
appropriate teams on the resolution
Required Skills and Competencies:
* A minimum of eight years' experience as a systems or business
analyst.
* Experience in Financial Services systems and an understanding of
data flows within Portfolio Accounting.
* Experience writing requirements, functional specifications, use
cases, and test plans; strong analytical skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Self-motivated and willing to work in an energetic, fast paced
team environment.
* Experience in writing basic SQL commands and comfort in
navigating relational databases
* Experience supporting critical production applications and
incident management process
* Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or related
discipline
Keys to this Position:
1) Domain knowledge: Portfolio Accounting knowledge. Ideally the
candidate will have Advent Geneva Portfolio Accounting knowledge.
Comparable to Geneva would be Eagle or FISERV. If the candidate has other
back office knowledge that will suffice as long as they meet the soft skill
criteria i.e. proactive, hard-working, self- motivated, etc.
2) Strong Systems Analysis skills (A minimum of eight years' experience
as a systems analyst writing requirements, functional specifications, use
cases, and test plans; strong analytical skills.
