Job Description: Transition Project Manager
Responsible for the completion of the specific phase of Data Center consolidation assigned. Data Center consolidations are broken into three phases Assessment, Planning and Execution. Each Phase requires a resource loaded project plan and work products that the Project Manager drives to completion. Responsible for developing and maintaining project plans that are resource balanced and accurately depict resources needs from the agency engaged in migration. Maintain and escalate risks associated to their relevant projects to the CITIServ PMO and Executive staff. Manage all risks to completion. Forecast critical path for migrations and maintain project plan base lined dates. Coordinate SWAT team resources and DoITT internal resources needed for successful completion of relevant Data Center migration phases.
MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Note: candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered.
Minimum of 8 years IT Project Management experience with the following:
• Proven track record and oversight responsibility for managing data center migrations
• Prior leadership experience in a large complex environment supporting for example MF, Windows, Solaris, AIX, Linux, Oracle, DB2, Clarity, Microsoft Project, SQL Server, Exchange, SharePoint, MQ, WAS, Web Logic in a CISCO network environment
• Technical expertise with the following Operating Systems: WMware, Solaris Zones, Windows Citrix, SAN, Proxy Server, Security, Firewall, Three tier Architecture, and networking with TCP/IP, IBM SNA, HTTP, Sun MC, NetIQ, Remedy.
• Strong management, collaboration and team building skills and demonstrated experience working with both technical and non-technical staff.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, prior experience interfacing with executive level management, creating and giving senior level presentations.
• Excellent analytic, organizational, and facilitation skills, with proven ability to manage multiple tasks, resolve or escalate issues and risk, direct priorities and make decisions, all under tight deadlines.
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree in a related IT field
• PMP Certification
• Knowledge of technologies and standards, e.g. ITIL and CMMI standards and processes
