POSITION I NYC (perm) full time (US Citizens / GC Holders only)
We are looking for a first/second level application support technologist for our NYC Office to support a highly complex fast paced financial trading environment. This person will be the first line of support for troubleshooting end user issues. The qualified candidate will need to advocate for the end users by engaging and coordinating with the appropriate teams to resolve issues within specified SLA guide lines. The candidate will need to understand a wide range of technologies to appropriately troubleshoot and resolve user issues.
- Experience working in finance with a trading desk is a must. Experience sitting on the desk is a plus.
- Experience working in a StockLoan environment is a plus.
- Good understanding of database connectivity and data flow process as it relates to applications and backend processes.
- Basic understanding of UNIX commands. Navigating around file systems, running commands and scripts (big pluses but note required)
- Excellent knowledge of Windows XP, application Client/Server relationships and configurations for Applications,
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel functionality.
- LAN's / WAN's, TCP/IP and FTP concepts and troubleshooting. Basic knowledge of active Directory relating to group permissions and password resets.
- Exceptional, verifiable troubleshooting skills for application support, connectivity issues from the desktop to the server and application errors and ourceful at finding solutions.

POSITION II
NYC (perm) full time (US Citizens / GC Holders only)
Global Financial Software Company seeks a Senior Application Support Analyst with strong customer service skills to provide application support to our rapidly growing International Banking/Asset Management customer base. This is a full time position with a leading reconciliation/corporate actions software firm locally based out of downtown Manhattan. Position requires little to no travel, offers excellent growth potential, and is a good opportunity to learn financial back office knowledge. Applicant should possess the majority of the listed skill requirements. Must have an excellent technical background, good work ethic, and strong communication skills.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
· Proven customer support experience, and good telephone manner.
· Proven analytic problem solving and IT background.
· Must demonstrate the ability to learn new applications quickly and to the detail required.
· Intermediate knowledge of UNIX (should possess junior administrator skills) – e.g. directory navigation, VI editor, use of cron, etc.
· Intermediate knowledge of SQL – e.g. able to form complex database queries in order to progress support call investigations
· Intermediate knowledge of RDBMS, with experience in at least one of Oracle, Sybase. - e.g. understands indexing, standard database optimization, backup and recovery etc.
· Interest in and business knowledge of Banking Back Office environments also desired
· Reconciliation knowledge is a plus.

POSITION III
NYC (Contract) but only US Citizens / GC Holders only
MUST HAVE NEED: STRONG SQL UNIX PRIOR APP SUPPORT EXPERIENCE WITHIN FINANCE
Required Skills & Experience:
7+ years in an application support position within a similar environment
Hands-on experience in supporting client applications and close interaction with the business users and application teams within financial industry, and preferably in the risk space.
Good Knowledge of supporting a heterogeneous environment with in-house solutions based in UNIX Shell scripts, Perl and Web based reporting tools like Microstrategy is desirable.
Good knowledge of UNIX and Windows 2003 operating systems is a must.
Good knowledge of Sybase, Netezza or a similar DBMS is a must, and good experience in articulating and handling performance issues typically seen in very large databases.
Good knowledge of Informatica (ETL tool), Analyst service and Power center is a must.
Good knowledge of Autosys to automate the batch
Good knowledge in version control systems like CVS and Subversion is desirable
Understanding of the Service Support and Delivery disciplines. Aware of the importance for incident, problem and change management procedures for day to day support activities.
Proven knowledge of Best Practices in production support
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Team player
