The Product Development Engineer is responsible for the mechanical design and development of control valves for the commercial HVAC industry. The position interfaces with all aspects of the design from conceptualization to production. The position will also interface with different groups within the company as well as external vendors and customers. The Engineer will work within a project-oriented, hands-on, team environment, interfacing closely with other Engineers, Product Management, Production and Product Procurement. The position requires strong documentation capabilities for engineering changes of existing products and product life-cycle management. Limited travel may also be required.
3. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Primary responsibilities)
: Responsible for the design development, qualification, process development and documentation of products designed at facility. These include the mechanical mechanisms for new valves, accessories, brackets, housings and linkages.
: Responsible for the development and maintenance of engineering documentation including drawings, bill of materials and technical specifications.
: Detail the requirements for new product developments in the form of a Product Specification Document as the first step in the product development process to meet new customer requirements.
: Write detailed Engineering/Test reports
: Provide technical application and product support
: Provide product and technical training as needed to other departments
: Work in and with test lab to support quality and development tests
4. QUALIFICATIONS AND TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Education: B.S. Mechanical Engineering minimum
Skill Requirements:

: Mechanical design with strong understanding of engineering fundamentals
: Experience in product development
: Good working knowledge of material properties
: Solid understanding of manufacturing technologies
