Require technical project manager familiar with infrastructure refresh efforts involving Wintel and Unix based server upgrades. Candidate should be familiar with OS, database, and middleware technologies as well as interfacing components, and have experience managing upgrade/refresh projects involving mission critical systems and applications.
This role requires interaction, coordination, planning, and prioritization of tasks and requirements for multiple projects within a highly silo'd organization with rigorous controls, change management, and gating processes.
Only candidates with a proven track record of success in delivering critical projects in a fast paced environment, under tight timelines, and excelling in pressure driven efforts should apply.
Key accountabilities:
* Engage application SME's and prioritize server/application refresh activities with technology support resources for multiple application systems used by the corresponding business unit
* Define software and hardware requirements for application/server upgrades
* Work with Solution architect, App SME, and/or App PM to update/refine existing system blueprints, System Requirements, or other application specific documentation
* Update/create required project SDLC/PMLC documentation

* Create, refine, collate all financials and track effort to budget

* Update/create required project SDLC/PMLC documentation

* Create, refine, collate all financials and track effort to budget
* Engage and plan testing activities with test management and app support teams
* Manage and track tasks and activities for all support and sub contract resources

POSITION: Senior Software Engineer - Front End, Back End and Mobile

LOCATION: Company is headquartered in downtown San Francisco (Montgomery
Street station). Client prefers candidates who already live within
commuting distance, but would consider candidates who are flexible to

COMPENSATION: Client is willing and able to put together the right package
for the right candidate. Base salary will be between $120,000 and $150,000
depending upon experience. Compensation will include an annual base

company, he was a professional poker player. He is a vegetarian, very
active outdoors enjoying hiking and anything on the mountains or on the
water. He is pretty hands off and doesn't like to look over anyone's
shoulder. He is good at mentoring when they need it. He has an
expectation of people to be detail oriented. If there is work to be done,
then think about the problem and raise the issue or flag it--even if you
can't solve it. In terms of meetings, they are pretty low key. Will have
a status meeting, but not doing intensive planning. Expect the person to
thrive in an environment where they can just make educated assumptions.
Have small team right now, so they can just find a hole, make an assumption
and drive it forward. Ego is a big No for him, especially in the rails
community where there can be a lot of big egos with people very set in
their ways. But, we prefer to have the maturity that there is more than
one way to do things. Keep an open mind.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have recent and significant Front End and Back End web
application development experience (HTML/JS/CSS/Ruby on Rails).
- Must have recent and significant experience with relational databases
such as MySQL.
- Must have recent and significant mobile development experience (mobile
web or native iOS/Android).
- Must have the interest and desire to work with cross-functional
product teams.
- Prefer someone with recent and significant front end experience using
a modern java script library such as jQuery.
- Prefer someone with recent and significant experience with PhoneGap.
- Prefer candidates who have experience with Amazon AWS (EC2/S3/RDS).
- Strongly prefer candidates with at least an undergraduate degree in
Computer Science, Engineering, Math, etc. from a well-respected school.
However, experience and technical aptitude are most important.
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit is preferred. Need someone who enjoys
the entrepreneurial atmosphere of a small company, but has been through the
experience of scaling up an enterprise to significant organization size and
revenues. Experience working in a dynamic (i.e. "startup") environment is
preferred.
