Listed below are nextweek's upcoming networking events. All meetings are open to the public, plusyou are welcome and strongly encouraged to attend. Try attending at least oneor two meetings a week, what you learn there will definitely help shorten your timein transition. Also, many of these groups convene in the evening, so it willnot take time away from your daily job search activities.
Think of these meetings as opportunities, sort of like going toschool, to learn something that can reduce your time in transition by gaining knowledgeof job search and interviewing skills needed to excel and standout from your competition.
Intraveling to these meetings, think about car pooling. Not only will it reduce the cost of drivingthere, but the friendly conversation will make the ride seem to go much faster.

Essential Duties
1. Work as part of a team of system administrators to ensure performance,
reliability and security on Windows systems in a dynamic 24-7-365
production data center environment. Apply software upgrades, security

2. Install, configure, document and maintain Windows servers in both
physical and virtualized environments including administration of the
Windows operating system and system management tools including Internet
Information Server (IIS), SQL Server, Active Directory and related
technologies.
3. Work closely with technical owners of applications to plan and deploy
and troubleshoot new or upgraded functions.
4. Provide performance tuning, capacity planning disaster recovery planning
and automation guidance for systems and applications.
5. Participate in cross-functional technical projects that require the
Windows Server platform as a component of the solution
6. Perform off-shift work and participate in rotating on-call coverage.
Required Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's degree plus two years recent and direct experience
maintaining and supporting Microsoft Windows Servers in a production
environment.
2. Experience working with IIS-based applications in a secure environment.
3. Demonstrated skill at troubleshooting and resolving problems on complex
Windows systems.
4. Experience working in an environment with complex networking including
firewalls.
Additional preferred education/experience:
1. Experience with Powershell for automation and system administration
2. Experience in an educational environment and/or an environment where
compliance with HIPAA or other regulatory controls are in use.
3. BS degree with technology emphasis.
4. Microsoft Certification in a related area or vendor certification in a
product or technology in use by the group.
5. Experience converting physical servers to virtual ones or migrating
virtual servers to new hosts.
6. Experience in an environment where change control procedures (such as
ITIL) are in use.
7. Recent experience with one or more of the following technologies on
Windows servers:

Essential Duties
1. Work as part of a team of system administrators to ensure performance,
reliability and security on Windows systems in a dynamic 24-7-365
production data center environment. Apply software upgrades, security
patches and perform planned maintenance as required.
2. Install, configure, document and maintain Windows servers in both
physical and virtualized environments including administration of the
Windows operating system and system management tools including Internet
Information Server (IIS), SQL Server, Active Directory and related
technologies.
3. Work closely with technical owners of applications to plan and deploy
and troubleshoot new or upgraded functions.
4. Provide performance tuning, capacity planning disaster recovery planning
and automation guidance for systems and applications.
5. Participate in cross-functional technical projects that require the
Windows Server platform as a component of the solution
6. Perform off-shift work and participate in rotating on-call coverage.
Required Education and Experience
1. Bachelor'
maintaining and supporting Microsoft Windows Servers in a production
environment.
2. Experience working with IIS-based applications in a secure environment.
3. Demonstrated skill at troubleshooting and resolving problems on complex
Windows systems.
4. Experience working in an environment with complex networking including
firewalls.
Additional preferred education/experienc
1. Experience with Powershell for automation and system administration
2. Experience in an educational environment and/or an environment where
compliance with HIPAA or other regulatory controls are in use.
3. BS degree with technology emphasis.
4. Microsoft Certification in a related area or vendor certification in a
product or technology in use by the group.
5. Experience converting physical servers to virtual ones or migrating
virtual servers to new hosts.
6. Experience in an environment where change control procedures (such as
ITIL) are in use.
7. Recent experience with one or more of the following technologies on
Windows servers:
a. Microsoft SQL Server
b. SCCM or SCOM
c. iSCSI attached storage
d. SSL-secured web servers****
