Position Summary:
This individual will be part of a centralized team responsible for
development, support and governance of the Enterprise Reporting platforms
including Oracle Reports Server, Oracle OBIEE and Cognos. In addition to
providing production support, this technologist will have development
responsibilities that further enhance frameworks proving increased
functionality.
Responsibilities:
a.. Provide production support and administration of the enterprise
reporting frameworks focused on Oracle report server and OBIEE.
b.. Support and enhance a custom Enterprise Reporting framework that is
built on Java, J2EE, Weblogic and Oracle Reports Server technologies
c.. Collaborate within a central team that consists of employees and
consultants including offshore vendor-resources.
d.. Work with project leads, analysts, and business users to understand
business processes and translate them into functional and non-functional
specifications for reporting solutions
e.. Assist project managers with project management related tasks
including estimation, resource allocation, task distribution, delivery
management, risk management and other project management tasks.
f.. Assist in reporting governance by developing and documenting
guidelines and best practices while staying on top of latest reporting
trends and technologies.
g.. Development of OBIEE reports for Central Data Repository
Required Skills and Competencies:
a.. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal
communication skills and ability to articulate technical solutions to the
business team members.
b.. Technical Expertise with OBIEE and / and Oracle Report Server and the
ability and desire to learn new technologies.
c.. Hands-on technical development experience is recommended to better
enable the candidate to support and enhance custom reporting framework.
Technologies include:
Java, J2EE, Weblogic, Tomcat and web-services integration
Oracle 11g databases, SQL and PL/SQL
Shell scripting (ksh, bash, csh, Perl), job-scheduler (Maestro)
a.. Good problem solving skills with the ability to performing root cause
analysis with limited information, when necessary.
b.. Experience working in distributed development and support environment
including offshore experience is mandatory.
c.. Financial services experience is a plus.
d.. Appropriate Degree
Keys to this Position:
1. We are seeking a strong resource with Oracle Reports Server and Oracle
OBIEE. Cognos is a plus. This person will be responsible for
administration, engineering, architecture and support of our Oracle Reports
Server and OBIEE environment. The role is both Tactical and Strategic as we
roll out these platforms across the organization.
2. Oracle Reports Server has a custom application written in Java so a
programming background is highly desired. The candidate will ideally have
Java but we are fine looking at candidates with other programming skills and
we will teach them Java.
3. Excellent communication skills are required.
