Senior Business Analyst
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Duration: 6+ months, long term
Primary responsibilities include identifying business requirements, functional design, data and rules requirements, testing support, deployment support and ownership for business analysis standards and templates. The ideal candidate will have minimum 5-10 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst, primarily in Property and Casualty Commercial Insurance. Previous insurance industry experience is required. All candidates should possess solid analytical and organizational skills, demonstrate initiative and ability to obtain results, and work at top levels of productivity. This role will deliver exceptional results in a fast-paced, growth environment and create capabilities to meet business financial targets
Key Duties:
* Elicit and identify business requirements for complex business objectives with respect to products, processes, distribution, compliance and reporting.
* Facilitate, lead, and contribute to business requirements definition and development. Guide business team members through creation of requirements. Leverage insurance knowledge on all subject matters including Underwriting, Claims, Operations, Compliance, Actuarial, and Finance.
* Define and plan requirement phases for IT-centric projects including operational data conversions, historical data conversions and system requirements.
* Collaborate and manage vendor relationships.
Required Skills:
5-10 years of IT Business Analysis experience.
5-10 years of insurance experience (commercial lines)
Experience with at least one policy management system, claims system, and/or billing system (Ideally with the implementation or at least maintenance of such a system)
Strong Use Cases, StoryBoards, UML, BRD's, JAD, Visio, PPT, Word skills (to document requirements and workflows)
Excellent communication skills .
