BROOKDALE COMMUNITY COLLEGE VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT POSITION Probationary Police Officer (Must be commissioned NJ Police Officer) Extended Search GENERAL DESCRIPTION College seeks individual who is commissioned NJ Police Officer to be responsib under direction and supervision of a superior officer, to patrol and monitor College grounds, buildings or designated events. Acts to safeguard life and property and enforce College regulations in accordance with state and municipal laws and departmental procedures. Responds to emergencies in accordance with the College's Emergency Management Procedures. Provide assistance, protection, and information to persons in a professional and cordial manner. Other related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School diploma required or equivalent. Ability to read, write and understand theEnglish language. Must be 18 years of age. Appointee must have active status as commissioned NJ Police Officer and be eligible for appointment as College Police Officer as provided by Chapter 211, 18:A6-4-2. Must be able to pass Psychological Evaluation and Police Background Check. Related work, education or military background preferred. Must have well developed interpersonal skills. Ability to operate campus communications devices. Is expected to act in a courteous professional manner with all constituents. Must possess certification by the State of New Jersey in CPR and first aid or obtain certification during probationary period. A valid New Jersey Driver's License is required with an acceptable driving record. SALARY Annual Salary is $34,628 with benefits.
