Job Description:
Seeking a Telco OSS/Network Management Systems Engineer with expertise in integrating new technologies and systems into Telco Networks that include legacy OSS elements (TIRKS, NMA, etc.) - a systems engineer with experience developing/optimizing network operations support systems/network management tools. Experience working in Telco environments (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, etc.), particularly in the development of Network Management Technical Plans and support of First Field Applications (FFA) relating to deployment of new Ethernet and RF micro/millimeter wave systems into carrier Backhaul Networks (Line-of-Sight; non-Line-of-Sight).
Candidates should possess excellent written and verbal English skills. The incumbent will be developing and documenting Network Management Technical Plans (NMTPs), and will be expected to present the NMTPs to a wide and diverse audience within AT&T (e.g., IT, Operations, Planners, systems testers). NMTPs document the FCAPS solution for supporting discrete elements in the network and for supporting the end-to-end network.
Requirements:
* Telecommunications experience.
* Telco operations support systems and network management tools development or engineering experience.
* Experience in developing Fault Management and Performance Management solutions for large scale Layer 2 or Layer 3 Networks. The candidate must have knowledge of SNMP, syslogs, and MIBs.
* Direct knowledge of NMA, TIRKS and the OSMINE process a plus.
* Basic knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, VPLS, VRRP, SSH, SNMP) and L2 Protocols (VLAN, LACP) is desirable.
* MSEE, MS Computer Science, or related education, or equivalent experience.
