Summary:
The Senior Architect provides strategic architectural and technology
leadership/oversight for architecture, design and development of high
performance distributed applications and services. This position works
closely with industry leaders, product experts and application developers to
conceptualize develop and deliver solutions and services. This position is
also responsible for research, evaluation and recommendation of new
technologies and tools/products to determine feasibility and desirability of
incorporating them within the company's technology and solutions strategy
and roadmaps; supports systems and business teams by providing support for
analysis and design, being subject matter expertise in multiple technology
verticals performance, scalability and benchmark and guidance/mentors to
less experienced staff.
Primary Responsibilities:
. Provides leadership and guidance for architecture design and
development of high performance messaging and transaction processing
products and/or services by defining and developing architectures, detailed
designs specifications, development, implementations and successful delivery
of the solution.
. Works with developers, product managers, and customer application
experts to define solutions, products and modules with required features and
functionality.
. Provides architectural guidance and leadership on best practices
regarding software development, user interface design frameworks, high
performance messaging solutions, server side development, integrations and
tools and technologies.
. Works with the business and systems team to identify the right
architecture for implementing new solutions, products and modules.
. Develops technology blue-prints for solutions, products and
services.
. Design and code for Proof of Concepts with New
Functionality/Technology and validate to eliminate technical risk.
. Participates in or monitors industry standards groups to maintain
strategic relations and formulate corporate strategy
. Participates in governance of architecture best practices and the
solutions which adopt it.
. Researches, evaluates new technologies/tools and software
products to determine feasibility and desirability of incorporating their
capabilities in line with the technology strategy of the organization.
. Protectively researches, evaluates, tests emerging technologies
and tools and presents/documents essential steps to integrate them into
solutions/applications.
. Supports the systems and business teams for estimates, analysis,
design, development, performance, scalability and benchmark test guidance
and providing subject matter expertise in technology and design.
Required Skills and Competencies:
. Bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields; Master's
degree preferred.
. 12+ years of technical experience in product architecture and
development.
. 8+ years of design and development of high performance messaging
and transaction processing systems experience in the financial or telecom
industries.
. Strong knowledge of architectural principles, frameworks and best
practices.
. Ability to collaborate with business and technology teams to
create practical, robust and scalable architectures and solutions meeting
the business and technology goals/strategy of the organization.
. 10+ years' experience in object oriented design and development
in Java and/or C++.
. 10+ years' experience with UNIX and Windows operating systems.
. 10+ years of experience in at least one JEE Application Server,
WebSphere and/or JBOSS experience is preferred.
. 10+ years' experience in JEE technologies and framework (Spring,
JSF2 preferable) Hibernate, WebSphere Application Server (WAS),
JMS/WebSphere MQ, Oracle AQ, Oracle 11g and support integration with other
applications via APIs(SOAP/REST), messaging, database access and In memory
Data Grid
. 8+ years' experience as a JEE Architect, certification is
desired.
. 5+ years of experience in performance and scalability of highly
distributed applications.
. Experience in SOA, SOAP, REST WSDL, XML, cloud and API standards.
. Strong understanding of Java/JEE and SCA design patterns,
packaging, and deployment is required.
. Good understanding of Server side design patterns (e.g. State
Machine, Adaptor, Decorator etc.)
. Should be able to understand the Activity diagrams, Sequence
diagrams and code for the facades, make decisions on Stateful and Stateless
objects.
. Previous application internationalization (i18n) and localization
experience is desired.
. Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to
communicate at all levels of the organization.
. Technical leadership and mentoring skills to guide and act as
SME.
. Perform Code Reviews and evaluate tools for code review
automation.
. Previous experience with any BPM / Business Rules Engine will be
a big plus.
. Experience with In Memory Data Grid and/or Big Data is a big Plus
